Just found this local online shop that carries some cool Grendizer and Sanshiro figurines and I am already regretting it since I now want to buy a whole bunch of things. The prices seem pretty reasonable which is making my life difficult. I must resist! [Link]
Inspired by Ma6aba’s post on his favorite new show, I decided to share mine which is True Blood. I am half way through season 1 and like all HBO shows I love it. The basic plot behind the show is that Japanese scientists invented synthetic blood and as a result Vampires no longer needed to feed on human blood. Thats why the vampires decided to “come out of the closet” but as expected not everyone believes they should have the same rights like humans and both government and religious leaders are split on this issue. Its not your ordinary story which is why I like the show a lot. I am not aware of any satellite channel that has True Blood but the full season is available on Amazon for just KD11. [Amazon Link]
A friend told me about this strange Japanese game show called Gaki Attack. The show takes four guys, locks them up in a gymnasium for 24 hours and then terrorizes them with a group of ninjas. I’ve watched a few episodes on YouTube and its hilarious. You can check the official site by going to GakiAttack.com

One of my favorite shows on the Discovery Channel is called Ultimate Survivor (Man Vs Wild in the States). The show follows a guy called Bear Grylls who gets dropped into the middle of no where and is expected to survive and find his way out. One episode it could be the Rain Forrest, another he could be dropped in the middle of the ocean etc..
So anyway I was researching Bear Grylls and found out there is actually a controversy. It seems the show is not what it appears to be. As a viewer we are led to believe that Bear Grylls is surviving with no help and in the middle of no where but some videos have popped up on YouTube showing otherwise. Even though he really does eat maggots and other absurd things, I can no longer watch the show. It just feels too much like fake wrestling (WWE). So if you’re also a fan of the show and Bear Grylls, sorry I am ruining this for you but its a fake. There is another show on Discovery called Survivorman which I’ve started watching and this one seems to be real and I haven’t found anything online that says otherwise.
I am currently extremely hooked on the tv series Jericho. I’ve been watching one episode after another without a break, the only other show that does this to me is 24. The plot of the series is very unique which is why I think I am addicted to it. I am not going to go into too much details as so not to ruin it for anyone but basically a nuclear bomb goes off in the city of Denver and a small Kansas town nearby try to cope with the aftereffects. Definitely worth watching if you can get a hold of it. [Link]
Anyone remember the show Beyond 2000? It used to be one of my favorites and the intro music is as memorable as all the other cool shows from back then. The show now has been replaced with Beyond Tomorrow which airs on Discovery Science but I don’t think its as memorable. [YouTube]
I just started watching the new TV mini-series called House of Saddam and its actually pretty good. The show charts the rise and fall of Saddam Hussein and it focuses on his family and his relationship with his closest advisers. The mini-series is only four episodes long and I’ve already gone through two of them. It actually sucks that there are only four episodes because it is an interesting subject and there is a lot to cover but I guess four episodes are better than one. There is a British TV show called “Banged Up Abroad” where the stories revolve around British citizens who were arrested abroad usually on drug related charges. The trailer above is for an episode where a British guy in the late 80’s gets caught dealing drugs in Kuwait and gets sentenced to 5 years in prison. Saddam then invaded Kuwait in 1990 and he was able to escape back to England.
What I don’t get is this TV show. Why would you turn criminals like drug dealers into semi celebrities? [YouTube]
