One of my favorite shows has ended and although the last episode wasn’t as dramatic as the Six Feet Under finale, it was still great. The last episode had a lot of memorable songs including the final one at the diner which I can’t seem to get out of my head. While flipping through some videos of Kuwait on YouTube I found a couple for the old popular kids show Iftah Ya Simsim. I found three different intros though but I even remember a different one so I am guessing they were a whole bunch of different ones. Another cool thing with these videos is you get to see the different vintage KTV television idents. Check out the three intros I found below.

Between yesterday and today I managed to watch 16 episodes of the comedy Studio 60. Its currently one of my favorite shows and I don’t think I would have ever guessed that I would ever like Matthew Perry since I found him annoying on the show Friends but, surprisingly I do. Matthew Perry stars in Studio 60 which is a show based around a fictional sketch-comedy show and Matthew Perry is one of the executive producers of this fictional show. Imagine if they made a show on behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live, it would turn out something like Studio 60.

There are a lot of characters, numerous stories, lots of comedy and just a small touch of on set romance. I read somewhere that the show was getting canceled which is typical because a lot of good shows get canceled (Arrested Development). If you are looking for a new show to download and watch then I would like to recommend Studio 60.

I prefer American Dad over Family Guy anyway…

I’ve been blasting Do you love me? all morning at the office, I think everyone is addicted to it now. Here is another classic song which they used play a lot on KTV, its by Abdel Moneim Madbouly. [Song]

I was waiting for Marzouq to post about this but he hasn’t still so I am going to post about it first… although it is HIS story.

Today I got an email from Marzouq and he sounded really pissed and depressed. He was vague in his email but it was something about losing a really important bid. I was like fuck, what was he bidding for? I figured something related to work, maybe he was trying to get the rights to Google Kuwait or some fast food chain or something. Anyway a few hours later he gives me a call.

We are talking and he tells me about this charity auction that took place in the US and how they were auctioning off a variety of items like electronics, snowmobiles etc.. I was thinking he probably tried bidding on a limited edition motorbike and he lost. Then he tells me that one of the items they were auctioning off was the chance to appear on an episode of 24 next season! Whoever won the auction would have a role on the show in season 7 and would also get to meet the whole cast and then leave with the episode script autographed by everyone. So I was like ok what happened??

Turns out he had a friend at the auction who was bidding in his place. He told his friend to bid max up to $10,000. Turns out though he had a tough competitor, some wife of a millionaire who according to Marzouqs friend came up to him and told him she wanted to have Jack Bauers babies. She kept bidding against him until past his $10,000 limit. In the end he increased his max bid till he hit around $16,000 but she kept bidding until in the end she won the auction for $21,000.

Its such an insane thing, imagine, a blogger from Kuwait would have been on 24. I would have been really jealous if he had won, but it sucks he didn’t. I know how much it would have meant to him being on the show. Anyway I think he is going to be pissed now because I posted about HIS experience before he did!

This reminds me of when King Abdullah appeared on Startrek.

Just finished watching the first season of Dexter and it was really cool. The best part has to be the fact that the main actor is Michael Hall who played the gay brother on my favorite TV show, Six Feet Under. In Dexter he plays a Miami police forensics expert during the day but at night he is a serial killer who goes around killing criminals who he believes have escaped justice. Its such an incredible and very strange show, I so can’t wait for the second season.

I was over at Marzouq watching 24, episode 11 of season 6 when Chloe O’Brian wrote down a number and then dialed it. Marzouq told me that all the numbers on the show are real numbers you could actually dial so we picked up the phone and called the number Chloe had just called on the show and we got the following automated message. Pan’s Labyrinth (Movie)
I didn’t like it, it bored me and was uneventful.

Harsh Times (Movie)
I hated Christian Bale in this movie a lot and thats why I loved this movie. He is such an amazing actor, so real that the whole movie I thought he was such a dickhead.

Casino Royale (Movie)
He barely had a cool car for 3 seconds, there was no car chase, no secret gadgets tucked up his sleeves, he still drinks martini and there was no nudity. Yawn.

What Dreams May Come (Movie)
Super boring.

Heroes (TV Show)
Really amazing, lots of characters and things happening. My second favorite show at the moment.

Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (TV Show)
Not to be mistaken with Ramsay’s Hells Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares is a much more exciting show. I really love it, its my favorite show at the moment although I think I have watched all the episodes available.

Lost Season 3 (TV Show)
Extremely boring. The shows viewership in the US has also dropped by half. Hopefully they take this as a sign and kill the show.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 3 (TV Show)
Still fun to watch, things are actually happening on the show unlike Lost.

Prison Break Season 2 (TV Show)
Biggest surprise of the year. I thought once they escaped show would get boring but its one of the most exciting shows this year, they really did a good job with the story.

24 Season 6 (TV Show)
Un-Fucking-Believable.

I was just checking out Jerry Seinfeld on Wikipedia and it seems his mother is Syrian. I didn’t know that.

Seinfeld was born in the Brooklyn borough of New York City to Jewish parents. His father, Kalman, was of Hungarian Jewish background and his mother, Betty, was of Syrian Jewish background.
