EGM sent a spy, posing as a clueless girlfriend shopping for a videogame system for her boyfriend. She went to the 4 largest video game retailers and started asking them questions like which system is better and what are polygons. Some of the answers by the store clerks are a good laugh.[Link]

From the Daily News: Salman Rushdie corroborates that new study that says video games can be good for you. Back when the the “Satanic Verses” author was hiding from the Ayatollah Khomeini’s 1989 death warrant, “My main pastime was playing Nintendo games,” Rushdie told Webster Hall curator Baird Jones at the Francesco Clemente show at the Larry Gagosian gallery the other night. “I devoted so much time to mastering Super Mario that I must have been the world champion by the end of my seclusion”… [Source]

Its a 129MB file but its worth it. If you have ever played Grand Theft Auto then you have to download it. Some guys went and acted out GTA in real life, its really cool and very funny. [Link]

I am a major Mortal Kombat 1 fan and this TV game is the coolest. You don’t need a videogame system or anything, just plug this controller into your TV and you can play Mortal Kombat with near arcade quality graphics. If you hate playing the game alone you can get a second controller and plug it into yours for 2 player head to head fighting. Very cool and very cheap at only $24.99! [Link]

For those of you who read engadget you might have seen a post today with a side by side comparison shot of the PS3 and Xbox360. The picture shows the Xbox360 much larger then the PS3, this is not true. In reality the xbox360 is smaller. The picture above is the accurate dimensions, the one on Engadget is wrong. If you notice the power socket of the xbox360 in the engadget shot, its been doctored. I really like Engadget, but sometimes they can be really unproffesional.

We have 2 PSP’s at the office, a Japanese version and an American version. We have 2 copies of Need for Speed, a Jap version and a US version. The problem is we can’t get the two systems to connect for a head to head race! Wtf?! I thought we would be able to do this even though we have two PSP’s from different regions.

I don’t know why I didn’t know about this from before but it turns out you can play your current PSP games online now via tunneling. Amazing stuff and its for free! [Link]

The PSP firmware update to version 1.51 is now available for US systems. Go to your main menu and click on Network Update. Its a 14MB file. If you do not have wifi available then you can download the update from here. The file is rar format so you need to unrar it first then you have to put into X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder (X = drive letter of PSP). This firmware update contains security fixes. When done installing the update, delete it off your memory stick.
