We might be getting Topgolf in Kuwait!

I’m filing this under rumors since the two sources I heard this from aren’t directly involved in the project, but I feel confident it’s actually happening. Supposedly, Topgolf is opening in Kuwait and will be part of the Sahara Kuwait Golf Resort.

There’s already a Topgolf open in Dubai and three planned for Saudi Arabia, so it’s not far fetched that one would be coming to Kuwait.

Topgolf is a driving range meets arcade, where you hit microchipped balls at giant targets to score points based on accuracy and distance. It’s less about golfing skills and more about having fun and hanging out with friends. There’s usually food and lots of drinking involved.

I reached out to Topgolf Dubai to see if they knew anything and was told they haven’t made any official announcements yet, but recommended I stay tuned to their official channels. When I pestered them a bit for any kind of info, they told me they’d spill the tea the moment they can. So I’m taking that as a sign that it’s happening, but they can’t say anything until it’s officially announced.

I also reached out to Ben Sharpe, the president and managing director for Topgolf Callaway Brands EMEA, but as of right now, I haven’t heard back from him yet.

Since we’re on the subject of golf, can someone please build a huge indoor miniature golf course as well? Thanks.

As someone that was “brought-up” in Kuwait (Ahmadi actually 70 + years ago) it is unbelievable the developments that have taken place. This is particularly interesting as my local golf club in Durham (UK) – Ramside Hall, is in the process of a major upgrade which includes a two level TopGolf system.

Top Golf requires huge land- I’m not sure where it would fit into the properties near Sahara. Also if its run by the same people who run Sahara Golf expect obscene/offensive prices and rudeness from the people who run the place.

I wish this was true but I really don’t see how its feasible- it’s a three floor driving range with around 90 hitting bays (6 people each)- I regularly go to Sahara and the range in Ahmadi and I never see more than 1-3 people there at a time. The weather in Kuwait pretty much shuts down any outdoor or semi-outdoor activity for the entire season- which is when TG is usually the most active.

I don’t know if its still around but there’s an indoor golf SIM place in Boulevard named Tee’s- it’s pretty cool but unfortunately there’s not enough interest in the country.

They have plenty of land there what do you mean? It also doesn’t have to be 3 floors and 90 hitting bays, we’re not in Vegas. Regarding the heat, the Dubai location has air conditioning for the summer. Also the Sahara prices are pretty reasonable, 10KD for 2 hours at the driving range and 150 balls? I can’t find any 2 hour activity in Kuwait that is cheaper.

So much negativity for no reason.
