Yesterday Tivo-Guy messaged me telling me he was able to install and run OS X Tiger on one of his machines at home. Tivo-Guy unlike us regular geeks is a Super Geek who can turn a kitchen blender into a computer if he wanted to. So I decided to share a link on how to setup OSX to work on your PC in a language us regular geeks can understand. [Link]

Pandora Rules!

Last week I posted a link to a new service called Pandora which can help you discover new music by telling it what artists or songs you like. I got my invite to the service today and the first thing I did was tell it I liked “Kid Loco”. Within a few seconds they introduced me to a song I had never heard of before, Afro Halo by Magic Arrows. The song was really fucking cool and it really is similar in style and sound to Kid Loco. When the song was done it gave me another cool song by another musician and when that was done another. Non stop music all similar in style and sound to Kid Loco.
At the moment you can only get into Pandora by invite so go give them your email address and they should email you an invite within a week. Here is a link to Pandora’s website. [Link]

Do Not Buy a Mac
If you are in the process of buying a Mac now put your purchase on hold. Why? Apple has a habit of introducing new products or upgrades during one it large events which are held throughout the year. Steve Jobs usually starts these events with his famous keynotes and then introduces the new products. Next month is the Apple Expo in Paris in which the new iMac G5 was introduced last year. During these expos it is expected that Apple would introduce new hardware and software products, or at least some hardware and software updates. Below is a list of the Apple products divided into two sections, “Likely to be Updated” and “Not LIkely to be Updated”.
Likely to be Updated
Powerbooks (Last updated in January)
iPod Shuffle (Last updated in January)
Not Likely to be Updated
iBooks (Last updated in July)
Mac Mini (Last updated in July)
iPod (Last updated in June)
PowerMacs (Last updated in April)
iMacs (Last updated in May)
To keep up to date with Mac rumors and news I would recommend checking the following sites before making a Mac purchase:
MacRumors Buyers Gude Excellent Source
MacRumors
Think Secret
AppleInsider
Apple Nova Forum
YouTube
YouTube.com is a service like Flickr except instead of people sharing pictures they share short videos. I personally don’t have any movies I want to share with people but it is interesting to watch other peoples videos. For example I just watched one guy do a pretty good Napoleon Dynamite impersonation and now I am going to look for some amatuer porn videos. [Link]
Play Games Online
Most Xbox users with modded Xbox’s can’t play on Xbox Live because Microsoft would ban them once they detect a modded Xbox. Luckily for us though there is a service that competes with Xbox Live and its called XLink. Basically what XLink allows you to do is to play ANY System-Link capable game online, even games that don’t have Xbox Live. Not only that but XLink also works with other systems including GameCube, PS2 and the PSP. Whats even cooler is that its for free! [Link]
Note: For those of you who have old modded xbox’s, for KD10 you can get a new chip that will allow you to turn off the mod and play on Xbox Live, check in Rihab Complex for more info.
This was the team formation for round 3 of the Halo 2 Frag Fest was as follows:
Team Damen
Edjamacated Guy
Nibaq
Fadibou
Mark
Team Da Hui
Ozy
Ripping Fabric
Kyon
Ramsey
Results? Out of atleast 10 games we played, Team Damen didn’t even come close to winning a single one! We totally got our asses kicked. Next time we should split up Team Da Hui and mix and match between their team and ours. We are no competition at the moment. The grudge match between Ripping Fabric and Fadibou resulted in Ripping Fabric winning.
I am back to work today. Turns out I had food poisoning and thats why I was sick. Only thing I had eaten though on Friday was Fried Calamari and Fish Promodoro from Johnny Carinos and it was amazing. So its hard to imagine food so good put me in a 12 hour puke fest. Anything I drank or ate I puked from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon. Finally Saturday evening I decided to go eat something I knew my body could handle naturally, McDonalds. I went and had a Quarter Pounder Combo with an extra Cheese Burger sandwich and it was really good. Yesterday I also noticed I had red dots on my face around my eyes area, as if I got an allergie from the fish or something, today they are practically all gone so thats good. Now I am back in the office and I am feeling completely normal, I don’t think anyone in the office will believe I was sick yesterday, I think they will all think I just took an extra day off from work since I was enjoying my long weekend. Anyway thanks for the get well soon comments below, now I got to catch up on 3 days of Internet.
Yes I am on vacation and its my first since the winter of 2003. But, its only a 1 day vacation, I just took Thursday off and will be back to work on Saturday. So till then, I don’t think I will post anything on 2:48AM.

Update on Kuwaitis are Racist
The other day I posted a link to a site where an American said a whole bunch of crap about Kuwait. I checked it today and there were over 70 90 comments left for the guy.
I hope someone stops him at the airport and gives him a nice goodbye, thats his picture on the left, his name is Michael Cornn. [Link]
Q8Car Redesign
Q8car.com has redesigned their website. It now works better on Macs plus they added a Classic Cars section which is pretty cool. The only problem I faced was trying to find the search button, it isn’t highlighted enough. Turns out after you select your car specs click on “Cars Search” link. Thats the search button.. [Link]
A man who got angry with his wife because she wanted to cuddle after sex when what he really wanted to do was watch sports on television was sentenced to death for killing her with a claw hammer.
Christopher Offord, 30, was sentenced Wednesday by Circuit Judge Dedee Costello, who said the brutality of the crime outweighed any mental problems Offord may have had.
“The defendant struck his wife approximately 70 individual blows after spending a happy interlude with her,” the judge said. “Her desire to cuddle after sex does not justify the extremely violent, brutal response of the defendant.”
Offord pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the 2004 slaying of Dana Noser, 40, at his apartment.
He confessed to a bartender at a sports bar before his arrest. He told investigators that his wife had been nagging him to come back to bed.
Offord did not speak in court but said in a jailhouse interview in June: “I figured I killed her so I deserve to die.”

Can you help me discover more music that I’ll like? Soon, Pandora will answer that for you, but at the moment its by invite only so go sign up and cross your fingers. [Link]
I am going to order an iBook this week and was planning on using my old Waterfield Design Vertigo bag of mine which Nataly is currently using. But I was talking to Nibaq earlier and we were discussing bags and I remembered how fun it was to shop for my last bag iBook bag. This is why I decided my new iBook would deserve a new bag. Nibaq and I both have different requirements when it comes to bags. As he puts it he is “technical” when it comes to bags. Meaning, they must be big, ugly and fit his laptop, 20 cameras, 2 desks, his favorite blankey, half his wardrobe and 2 book shelves. Me on the other hand, I like bags that look good, are compact, simple and barely fit my stuff.
Its like the difference between a 60GB iPod and a 4GB iPod mini. One allows you to carry all your songs with you, while with the other you only carry the songs you need. So basically, I like to be choosy when it comes to deciding what I need to carry with me since this will be more of my everyday bag and not my “I will travel the world and need to take all my stuff with me” bag.
I just started my quest for the ultimate bag today but already I have a qualifier. I first checked the award winning Cargo bag at Waterfield Designs but I found it looking too much like a regular boring laptop bag and it was also overly priced. My second stop was at the Crumpler shop. I previously purchased the Budgie Smuggler for my Nikon D70 but got mixed results. The bag looked really good and was of excellent build quality, one of the best I have ever seen, but, it was a bit too bulky for my needs. I guess this comes with the territory of purchasing stuff online, you can’t try the stuff before you order them. But, the Crumpler bags are great and the companies personality is really down to earth. This is why I now have my eye on The Breakfast Buffet. I am thinking of getting the blue one and its priced nicely at $95. Its small, enough to fit a 12inch iBook and still has enough room to throw in my PSP, iPod, PDA and notebook. So, until I find something better, it seems this will be the bag I will be getting.

At first I thought this movie was a hoax or a spoof but it turns out its real and its a documentary. Its really interesting and funny, its about a group of people who live 2 lives, their real life where they work and have a regular family, and their play life where they are part of a huge army of medieval warriors. Maybe we should setup the same thing here in Kuwait. [Link]
