Today is the first day of the InfoConnect exhibition. If you’re looking to get a new Internet subscription or to renew one, InfoConnect is usually the best time to do it since they usually have the best deals going on. The Kuwait Riders are holding their first bike show ever this coming Friday at the Marina Crescent parking lot. There will also be a competition between 19 categories of custom, classic and sport motorbikes, here are the details:

The luxurious car show Concours d’Elegance is going to be held for the second time in Kuwait early next month. Like last year, it going to be an important and prestigious event that will attract people from both inside and outside Kuwait.

What is the Concours d’Elegance?
Concours is a French word meaning competition. The concept of Concours originates in 17th C. France when aristocrats used to choose their best horse carriages to parade around parks of Paris during the summer week ends and holidays. Later these traditions changed to automobiles from the 20th C. Concours today have strict regulations and cars are inspected by qualified judges. Trophy winners are carefully chosen. Each year there are numerous events which take place across the world, many of which are world famous, including Villa d’Este in Italy, Goodwood in UK, and Pebble Beach in USA. The Kuwait Concours d’Elegance is rapidly becoming a fixture in this international programme, able to attract some of the world’s rarest and exotic motorcars.

There is a Ford Driving Experience taking place today (Jan 22nd) at the Kuwait International Fair Grounds. They will have brand new 2011 Mustangs which anyone can test drive. The even is open to the public from 10:30AM till 5:00PM.

This looks like it’s going to be one hell of a show. The Ahmadi Music Group & Orchestra will be presenting one of the most famous and exciting choral works ever performed in Kuwait with a large orchestra of 40 musicians… Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

The weather was pretty cold today but a lot of people passed by the Gulf Run car show at 360 Mall. I got there at 1PM, had lunch at OFK and then spent the rest of the day hanging out at the GulfRun stand. Tomorrow is the last day for the show so pass by if you can and check out all the cars. I’m probably going to be there all day again tomorrow.

The weekend is upon us and the GulfRun 6 car show is around the corner. With that we have the raffle which all donations going to the Hayat Cancer Foundation. The prizes this year are:

Today is the first day of REUSE 4.0 which is being held on the premises of the Australian College of Kuwait. REUSE 4.0 features a dynamic mix of art galleries, music, film screenings, mixed media installations, a lounge, go-kart sprints, trendy eco-fashion & accessories, prizes, surprises & more. My brother got invited to exhibit his abandoned Amiri Hospital pictures at the event and he was there yesterday and took some pictures of the event which you can check out below.

For 2011 Cinemagic will continue the journey of The Old, The Latest and The Best. I’ve watched two of the movies from this months schedule, Son of Rambow and City of God. Son of Rambow was pretty cool but City of God is like one of the best movies ever made. There is going to be a partial solar eclipse tomorrow and if you’re interested in observing it you can do so at the home of astronomer Adel Alsadoun. He’s inviting the public to come by and check it out from there since he will have a telescope connected to a large screen to view the eclipse plus he will be providing solar eclipse glasses.

The Pro Kart Racing Club is organizing a Universities & Colleges Karting Cup that will be taking place next month. It’s divided into a “Males Cup” and a “Females Cup” so that way everyone gets to participate. The cost is KD30 if you’re a racer and KD10 if you’re a supporter. This includes an open buffet but not sure if the KD30 fee includes the cost for all the races (practice, qualification etc..).
