I was at the Kuwait University today in Shuwaikh doing something for work. When I was done I passed by the cafeteria which to my surprise turned out to be segregated in half, I can’t believe they did that. The funniest part is the Starbucks which is located right in the middle of the dividing wall. So, what you get now is a Starbucks divided in half, half for guys half for girls. In the picture you can notice the white wall on the left, thats the wall that cuts Starbucks in half. I was standing in the male side of Starbucks when I took this picture. Really stupid.

When the movie SuperSize Me came out everyone was like “did you watch it did you watch it?” And I would be like “yeah its bullshit’. No one believed me.

Now a new movie is coming out called “Mickey D’s and Me” that supports my view. The movie is a documentary made by a woman called Soso Whaley who went on a McDonalds diet and ended up losing weight and cholesterol points! Soso believes people are responsible for their weight gain and not the restaurants which I believe is true. Click here to read her interview.

After checking out the Google Sightseeing website, I decided to make a collective of landmarks around Kuwait. I found a couple, if you guys can help me in finding some more it would be cool. This is what I have found:

The other day I posted about how you can check out Kuwait using Google Maps, well I found a site that will take you sightseeing around the world using Google Maps, ever wanted to visit Disney Land, Buckingham Palace, or the Colosseum? What Google Sightseeing have done is find these and more famous landmarks using the satellite maps and then given us the links to them. I just sent them the Kuwait Towers link for them to add. This is the picture of the fake Hungry Bunny that I spoke about a few days ago thats opening on the 4th ring road. As you can see, although they are using a similar typeface and color scheme as the official Hungry Bunny, the main visual of the bunny rabbit is different.

Just yesterday I posted about the end of the Sub Club here in Kuwait but when I went to Sbarro for lunch they gave me their own version! Its only valid at Sbarro, Hardees, KFC and Baskin Robbins.. but the Fashionway branch. Order anything over KD1.200 from these 4 restaurants and they will give you a sticker. After 4 stickers you get your choice of either a Hardees or KFC combo for free! Offer valid till August 10th.

Was playing around with Google maps when I decided to check out Kuwait. It’s amazing! I didn’t think they would have Kuwait but they do. Now for some reason half of Salmiya is NOT available on Google and that half includes my house but a lot of other landmarks are available to spy on from above. It seems Flickr got banned yesterday in UAE. According to this discussion, Flickr got banned because of the nudity found on it. This said, the UAE users are blamming the people who are shooting nudes for the ban when they should be blaming their government.

Billy Corgan’s first solo album “TheFutureEmbrace” was released just yesterday yet Billy Corgan also released a full page ad in the Chicago Tribune saying that he wants Smashing Pumpkins to reunite! Smashing Pumpkins are one of my favorite bands ever, the line which I use for 2:48AM “Breathing underwater and living under glass” is actually from one of their songs. So having them reunite again would be one of the coolest things that could happen. [Link]

Ever wanted to know how long can you keep the ketchup in the fridge or when does your Pepsi go bad? This site has a pretty comprehensive list of Food and Household products and how long they last. The most surprising thing is mayonaise, according to the site:

Mayonnaise
Unopened: Indefinitely
Opened: 2 to 3 months from “purchase by” date (After this time, color or flavor may be affected, but product is still generally safe to consume.)

For some reason I though mayonnaise goes bad very quickly, this is why I usually throw out the jar after the first use. Actually, anything that has been in my fridge for more then a week gets thrown out, unless its in the freezer. [Link]

According to NASA, the moon will hang in the sky at its lowest point in 18 years over the next three nights. So go outside, relish the beautiful hot sticky Kuwaiti weather and enjoy the supersized moon. [Link]

Turns out back in the 1950s, the US Airforce had plans to detonate a nuclear bomb on the moon so they could examine the nuclear cloud for possible organic material. [Link]
