Coca Cola replaced its old tagline “Real” with a new slogan “Welcome to the Coke side of life”. I still choose Pepsi. [Link]

Today there was an article in Arab Times related to what I posted the other day on the fact that I heard expats will be limited to staying in Kuwait for only 6 years. I am glad the majority of people think this is a stupid idea. Here is the link to the Arab Times article or click on more to read it here.
Snow comes to deserts of Dubai
The indoor ski slopes finally opened up in Dubai and looking at the pictures on their website makes me jealous that we don’t have anything similar here in Kuwait. Entrance price is only $35 and that includes clothes and equipment rental which I think is a pretty good deal. But, the place doesn’t look “that” big so I am curious to find out if its going to be over crowded the whole time or not. [Link]
World’s Ugliest Dog is Dead
I posted about this dog back in July and I just found out it died on Friday. [Link]

French Connection, the fashion retailer, is scaling back the use of its controversial Fcuk slogan after a slump in sales. The acronym for French Connection United Kingdom has been splashed across the company’s clothing and advertising campaigns since its creation in 1997. But with sales down 10 per cent in the first half of 2005, the company has decided that the brand has tired and will be taken off its clothing and billboards. [More]
I think fcuk was cool when it first came out but I have to agree that I think it has been abused and is just lame now. When fcuk became popular the word fuck was still a bad word, now though you could have fuck on your tshirt and no one would look twice.
There is an article on CNN.com about how U.S. troops have been sending pictures from Iraq of dead people and other subjects to a certain website to get access to their porn. They don’t mention the website so I am going to mention it, its NowThatsFuckedUp.com
The website became famous like a year ago when they posted pictures of this army chick serving in Iraq posing in the barracks with her weapons naked. Since then they have added more pictures of naked army chicks serving in Kuwait and Iraq and the website has become very popular among army men. The website seems down now, if you are in Kuwait it will also most probably be blocked so you need to use a site like proxify to get access to it.
The dolphins were trained by the military to fire “toxic dart guns” at terrorists are now free in the Gulf of Mexico. This is not a joke. [Link]
I couldn’t stop laughing when I read this! I could imagine someone faking a sickness to leave work and watch the game but to actually fake an emergency plane landing is like super dumb! [Link]
Two persons were injured by an explosion that rocked the offices of the Kuwaiti embassy’s information center in Beirut’s commercial thoroughfare of Hamra at mid-morning Monday. There were conflicting reports about the blast which was attributed first to a hand grenade, then to a letter bomb and then to a parcel bomb. More info when available.
Update: Turns out it was just a guy who brought a grenade with him to work and was playing with it when it went off.
This is not fake, this is real. This is a note Bush was writing to Condoleezza Rice!
U.S. President George W. Bush writes a note to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during a Security Council meeting at the 2005 World Summit and 60th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York September 14, 2005. World leaders are exploring ways to revitalize the United Nations at a summit on Wednesday but their blueprint falls short of Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s vision of freedom from want, persecution and war. From the Arab Times: A security source disclosed an Arab girl who is seen in a clip wearing police uniform is outside the country. A security source said contacts have been established with concerned authorities in her home country to arrest her, reports Al-Rai Al-Aam daily. Earlier it was reported the picture was circulated among phones users with the Bluetooth technology and the policeman who allegedly allowed the girl to wear his uniform is in police custody, said a source who refused to give his name. Police have also arrested the policeman’s friend for taking part in the crime. The same source said the girl was in an apartment hired by a policeman contrary to earlier reports which said the suspect was a police officer. The source added the rank on the uniform was a forgery.
Anyone have this video clip?
Update: Thanks to DNA-Q8, here is the clip. [Video 200kb]
And I thought models in Kuwait were underpaid. Dancer Mandy Coulton became famous as one of the dancers from the colorful iPod ads but Mandy herself can’t afford her own iPod. She was paid $1,500 for her three-hours work on the campaign and finds $400 for an iPod too much to pay. “I can’t justify spending that much money when I have day-to-day stuff to pay for like the car and rent.” She works as a nanny part-time while she waits for her dancing career to take-off.
