I am at the airport now sitting at Mc Cafe drinking some tea. When Nat came back from Lebanon early in the week she came back coughing and with the flu. It seems I am getting sick now. The airport is super packed, never seen it like this before. I am taking Gulf Air to Bahrain which I am not too excited about. I have heard a lot of terrible stuff about Gulf Air and didn’t they also have like a plane or two crash a few years ago?

I just came back from my bank. I went to check and see if Showtime honored my cancellation request and canceled my standing order with the bank but it turns out they haven’t. I no longer have Showtime at home since I canceled my subscription over 2 months ago but they are still taking money from me every month!
The employee at the bank was very helpful because he had gone through the same situation with United Networks which is also owned by Global Direct the same company that owns and runs Showtime. He told me what many people are doing is canceling their credit cards so that Showtime stops billing them but I wouldn’t be able to do that because Showtime take the amount straight from my account and not my credit card. So, the employee gave me some numbers at Showtime to contact but he told me they rarely pick up and to keep trying.
Dealing with Showtime has seriously been the worst experience I have ever had with any company ever! I am really trying to think of a company that treated me worst but can’t think of any at the moment. My advice is to stay away from Showtime and any other company that is run by Global Direct like United Networks and ZakSat.
update: Just got off the phone with someone at Showtime. He was very friendly and helpful. He apologized for the mixup and told me they would refund me the extra months they have taken and make sure they cancel my subscription for sure. Finally!
I want!

The color sucks but other then that this beast makes my Wrangler look like a muffin about to get run over by a truck. [Link]
Things to do in Bahrain
I am leaving to Bahrain for some work related stuff on Wednesday afternoon and coming back Friday night. Its my first time there so I was checking Lonely Planet to see what there is to do in Bahrain and I couldn’t find anything.
I heard Bahrain has good restaurants does anyone know anything about them? Any recommendations? How about malls, do they have like a shopping mall in Bahrain? Will I actually find something to do or should I expect to spend all my time in the hotel room watching TV?
update: just remembered Michael Jackson lives there now so it can’t be that bad
Couch Potato
This Eid holiday I have done nothing but be a couch potato. Nat is in Lebanon visiting her family so its been just me and Geo at home for the past 3 days. So far I have watched the first season of Brotherhood, the second season of The Contender and a a season and a half of Nip/Tuck. Oh and for dinner I just order Hardees which means once Nat gets back she is going to put me on fast food free diet for like a month or something…
Just found a small rose bouquet on the door step of my apartment. Someone either has a crush on me… or Nat. I am guessing its not me.
Staying Home
Dubai shoot is postponed so I am going to be staying in Kuwait for Eid.
Thats a good thing.
Back to Dubai?
Seems I might be going back to Dubai tomorrow for another photo shoot. I think this is the first shoot I am hoping won’t take place because I really wanted to spend the Eid holiday just being lazy at home. An interesting fact, the same room I stayed in just a few days ago is now nearly double the price and I am guessing its because of Eid.
Back in Kuwait and feels really good.
Mobile phone prices are like the same price as Kuwait. Rent is wayyyyy more expensive. They don’t build one building, they build them in large clusters all at once. Drivers are worst then Kuwait. Girls are all like half naked. Kuwait is greener. Emirates mall is like Marina Mall times ten. They have larger variety of restaurants. Finally, consumers are not treated like idiots, they are valued.
So internet in the room is like 3KD an hour but internet in the lobby is free, so you can guess where I am sitting. Flight was great. Emirates have like 400 or something channels of on demand video. By the time I figured out what I wanted to watch we had already landed. Think I am going to go to “The Agency” now drink some wine and order some sushi from the Japanese restaurant next door.
Kuwait Airport
The walk from the long term parking to the main airport felt like a triathlon. I really need to start working out.

Good Morning Krispy Kreme

So I end my night eating 4 Krispy Kreme donuts (and thats in the car from Marina Mall to my house) only to wake up and come to work and have 4 boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts delivered to my desk. Someone working with Krispy Kreme read my blog and noticed I mentioned I only had the regular glazed donuts so I just got an assortment of various flavors.
I don’t know why I bother trying to diet..
