Took the Frog out for some bashing in the sun. It was a lot of fun, check out some more pictures below.

I passed by My Toy a few hours ago and picked up a Tamiya Frog radio controlled buggy. Originally released in 1983 the Frog was re-released in 2006 and I think its one of the coolest looking buggies. Interesting fact, the largest off-road track in the world is currently being built in Kuwait. Check out this link for some pictures. [Link]
update: In case anyone is interested here is the phone number of My Toy 22256707
A friend of mine is building the coolest thing in his basement, his own LEGO world! Its still under construction and he still has along way to go but its already looking really cool. I need to find a way to convince Nat to let me do the same thing…
Last night I was checking out the Tamiya cars Frog and Hornet online and figured I would pass by the Tamiya dealer in Kuwait, My Toy to check and see if they had them. Today out of the blue my friend calls me up and asks me if I wanted to pass by the launch of the new My Toy store in Shuwaikh. Turns out they opened up a branch at the trendy Tilal Complex and the official opening was today so after work I passed by to check it out.
The new store is small but the location is really great and they had this huge indoor race track setup in the basement which I think RC fans will love. I spotted the Frog and Hornet on display but it was too packed to check out properly so I will have to go back this weekend. I used to love My Toy as a kid in the 80’s so its great to see the brand still alive.
Now someone please bring Kids “R” Us back to life!
So I was flipping through eBay looking for random stuff when I found a couple of people selling a brand new in the box Liono figurine from the popular 80’s cartoon Thundercats. I thought that would be a great Christmas gift for myself until I spotted the price. There were three sellers and the cheapest was selling the toy figure for KD160 while the most expensive was selling it for KD2,400! Makes me wish I never opened up my toys as a kid.
I am a HUGE fan of the original Mortal Kombat game. I used to play it non stop back in 1993 in Canada at the arcades and I then got the SNES version and Sega GameGear version to satisfy my addiction. I even wanted to try and get the arcade machine for my house here in Kuwait but I couldn’t find a place that had it.
Anyway I ordered the Plug & Play version of the game last week from Amazon and I got it today and its amazing! They’ve basically squeezed the game into a joypad that runs on AA batteries and you just plug the joypad into the TV and play a version of the game thats extremely close to the arcade original. Its very practical and it costs only KD2!
If you’re interested here is the link to the game on Amazon. [Link]
And if anyone knows where I can buy the arcade machine from please tell me!

I was walking around Muthana Complex when I spotted a second new branch of My Toy. The main branch is located on the ground floor and sells Tamiya radio controlled vehicles but the branch I found was located on the Mezzanine floor opposite the store that sells all the cool Japanese robots (behind Andalus). This second branch of My Toy is focused on plastic vehicle models… you know the ones that you glue together. I was always terrible at them since I was always too clumsy with the glue but its good to know there is still market for them.
For those of you who’ve never heard of My Toy. Its one of the oldest toy stores in Kuwait. I used to pass by their store in the 80’s when they were located in Salmiya. Here is a link to their website. [Link]
Update: Forgot to mention but their website has a link to their online store.
Monthy Python fans will appreciate this. One of the funniest scenes in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail is the scene with the black knight. Now Computer Gear is selling a black knight doll featuring tear-off and stick-on arms and legs and also shouts out famous quotes like “Tis nothing but a scratch” or the famous “I’ll bite your legs off!”. It’s only $30 which isn’t too bad. [Link]
If you’ve been living in a cave all your life and never watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail here is the YouTube video of the famous black knight scene. [YouTube]
Why does Lego cost so bloody much?? The above Lego of the Death Star recently got released and its priced at $400! [Link]
The LEGO Storm Trooper! I managed to get it before it sold out on Lego.com. The Darth Vader key chain is still available though. [Link]
I passed by the Panasonic dealer in Salmiya (Easa Husain Al-Yousifi & Sons Co.) and noticed they are selling the Pleo Dinosaur. They’re selling it for KD129 which is around KD50 more expensive than Amazon. If you don’t know what the Pleo Dinosaur is its basically a robot dinosaur that can see, feel and grow (mentally). Its extremely cute and intelligent, if I didn’t think my dog Geo would eat it I would have already gotten one. You can check it out in action on the Pleo website, just click on discover once you get there. [Link]
Not the comedy group but the actual Axis of Evil. For $120 you can have your very own Tony Blair, George W. Bush, Kim Jung Kil, Osama Bin Laden and ghost of Saddam figurines! [Link]
