I love Street Fighter and if they come out with Street Fighter 4 that would be really fucking kick ass. I just hope they up the graphics to atleast Guilty Gear quality. [Link]

First Impression: Nintendo DS
Yesterday I got my Nintendo DS which I had ordered from Amazon.com. I had ordered the bundle which included the Spiderman 2 game, Metroid Prime demo game and the Pro Gamers Kit. The Pro Gamers Kit is basically an Aluminum Case, Games Case, Earphones, Car adapter Screen Lenses and Neck Strap all in 1 package. The aluminum case looks like those bags in the movies where the drug dealers carry their cocaine in. First thing I did once I picked up my stuff was pass by Rihab Complex to exchange the Spiderman game for Super Mario. I hate Spiderman 2 but it came for free with the bundle and I figured I could exchange it for a game I would enjoy more. I found a store in Rihab that was willing to exchange spiderman for mario if I paid him KD3 which was a fair deal and I went ahead with the trade.
When I got home I took out the DS from the package and started playing with it. First thing I noticed was that its huge. Compared to my PSP the DS feels larger and heavier, Nat felt this the most since her hands are smaller then mine. I played Mario for a while and then played the mini games that came with the game and it wasn’t bad. I actually prefer the mario mini games to the actual game, they were more fun and faster. I really like the touch screen, I hate the stylus and thumb strap though, I prefer using my thumbs to click and rub the screen. I later played the Metroid Prime demo and that also made use of the touch screen, using my thumbs to click on screen buttons is very practical and easy. The reason I purchased the DS was so I could play the game Nintendogs which I ordered with the DS but which I still haven’t received so I am kinda disappointed about that.
The graphics of the DS compared to the PSP suck of course. This is why if I am going to buy games for the DS they won’t be realistic looking games. I would get 2D games or 3D games with a cartoony look, like Mario and Nintendogs. When it comes to realistically rendered games the PSP will always win. In October Castlevania is going to be released on the DS and it will be in 2D which is exactly the way I like it, so that will be the next game I will probably get. Nat is enjoying Mario a lot at the moment so I think she will be hogging the DS until I get Nintendogs at the end of this week.
So in conclusion, my first impressions of the DS is that its big, bulky, heavy and the graphics suck. BUT, it does have 2 things going for it, the touch screen and some cool games (like Nintendogs & Castlevania). I personally believe a system is worth purchasing if there is 1 great game you want on it, having 2 games I want is a bonus.

Hello 2.0
Finally installed the PSP 2.0 firmware update and I can now browse the internet from my PSP. Cool shit.
Update: So far first impressions of the browser is thats its pretty cool, perfect for checking up on sites from bed before I go to sleep or at the airport while I wait to pick someone up. I haven’t any problems browsing except for 2 websites. 2:48AM’s sidebar didn’t show up on the PSP and Idontlikeyouinthatway.com gave me an out of memory error. Other then that everything worked like a charm. To make my life easier I also create a homepage for the PSP which includes links to all the sites I visit, this way I don’t have to type each one out manually.
PSP Firmware 2.0 is OUT
Finally the US 2.0 is out. People who downloaded the Japanese version last month will not be able to install the US version on their PSP. Currently though there seems to be no new features in the US version over the Japanese version. [Link]
Pre-Order You XBOX 360
EBgames has two very cool XBOX 360 bundles for pre-ordering. I am going to get the Ultimate Bundle since that has the most goodies. So Nat, if you are reading this, thank you in advance for this very thoughtful birthday gift! [Link]
Generation NEX
Wow, this slim NES kicks more ass then a slim PS2. [Link]
Nintendogs
I finally found a reason to get a Nintendo DS, Nintendogs. When I first heard about the game I thought it was stupid, when I saw pictures of the game I thought it was stupider, but then I watched a video of the game in action and I fell in love. Nintendogs is basically like an advanced version of the Tagamotchi pet. You get to choose your dog from the kennel and they you help it grow. A while back our family pet dog died, he was a daschund. The video I watched of the game involved a daschund playing with bubbles. Basically the kid playing with the game was using a bubble blower to play with the dog in the game and the dogs reactions to the bubbles were exactly like my real life dog. The on screen dog jumped around trying to bite the bubbles and then when the bubbles hit him he started to rub his paw on his face! Seeing that brought nice memories and I knew I had to get the game, I am going to resurrect my dead dog back to life inside the game!
I just found a good deal for a DS bundle on Amazon. A silver Nintendo DS bundled with a Spiderman 2 game and a Pro Gamers Kit (includes a Aluminum Case Games Cases, Earphones, Car adaptor Screen Lenses and Neck Strap) for only $129. The Nintendogs (Dachshund version) for $29 also. Now I can’t wait for the game to come. [Link]

XBOX360 Official Price
Microsoft’s announced the official base price for the Xbox 360 at $299, with a $399 version available. The $299 version will come bare with a wired controller, while the $399 version will have a 20GB drive, wireless controller, headset, and remote.
Game Boy Micro
First mentioned at E3 back in May, the Game Boy Micro is going to be released next month priced at $99. Doesn’t sound much but when you consider the fact that the Nintendo DS, a more capable machine with dual screens and the ability to play Game Boy Advance games also costs only $120, the Game Boy Micro starts looking a bit more expensive. Still though, I will probably get one. [Link]

Emulators on the Xbox
I spent most of Friday morning installing emulators and game roms on my Xbox. On my Dreamcast I had a ton of emulator CDs and games including over 1600 Sega Genesis games. So, I spent the morning copying all the Roms off the Dreamcast CD onto my Xbox, then I downloaded some Xbox emulators from #xbins on Efnet and installed those also. Now I can play tons of games that were made for the Genesis, 32X, SNES, Coleco or MSX on my Xbox. They also all run extremely well with no slowdown what-so-ever. Next step is to get some NeoGeo roms and a NeoGeo emulator for the Xbox.
Play Games Online
Most Xbox users with modded Xbox’s can’t play on Xbox Live because Microsoft would ban them once they detect a modded Xbox. Luckily for us though there is a service that competes with Xbox Live and its called XLink. Basically what XLink allows you to do is to play ANY System-Link capable game online, even games that don’t have Xbox Live. Not only that but XLink also works with other systems including GameCube, PS2 and the PSP. Whats even cooler is that its for free! [Link]
Note: For those of you who have old modded xbox’s, for KD10 you can get a new chip that will allow you to turn off the mod and play on Xbox Live, check in Rihab Complex for more info.
This was the team formation for round 3 of the Halo 2 Frag Fest was as follows:
Team Damen
Edjamacated Guy
Nibaq
Fadibou
Mark
Team Da Hui
Ozy
Ripping Fabric
Kyon
Ramsey
Results? Out of atleast 10 games we played, Team Damen didn’t even come close to winning a single one! We totally got our asses kicked. Next time we should split up Team Da Hui and mix and match between their team and ours. We are no competition at the moment. The grudge match between Ripping Fabric and Fadibou resulted in Ripping Fabric winning.
Atari Logo Evolution
Another interesting article but this one is on the Atari logo and how it evolved through time. The writer also puts a lot of focus on Atari’s fuji symbol and how a lot of variations of it exist. [Link]
