Spotted this video on the LWDLIK blog. It’s a presentation on the new railway system that is going to be built in Kuwait. I’ve posted about this topic a number of times before but this video offers a new glimpse on how the system will work and be implemented. They even have a few 3D renderings over real world shots showing how it’s going to look which is a design similar to the Dubai Metro but with a potential to be better since they’re planning to cover the whole country. Spotted the video above on the His&Hers blog. Fights at the Avenues isn’t anything new but watching the video above you kinda wonder where is security? With the amount of fights that take place there I would have cops stationed all around on weekends. [YouTube]
This is security footage of a fight that took place at Al Adan Hospital earlier in the month. I can’t believe the guy even punches the old woman, it’s completely messed up. Here is a link to even better quality footage than the one above [Link]
Thanks Hashem
Update: Before people start posting hate comments about Kuwait, here is a bigger fight that took place at a hospital in the States. This isn’t a Kuwait only thing.

Looks like the main building entrance was completely engulfed in flames. Hopefully everyone got out safely. [YouTube]
Just over a year ago I got an email from Dhari Al-Gharabally from the Kuwait Oil Company telling me about a problem they had with stray dogs in Ahmadi and how they wanted to deal with this issue in a humane manner without causing any harm to the dogs. I put him in touch with K’s PATH and since then they’ve been working together solving the stray dogs issue.
Earlier today KOC released a video detailing their relationship with K’s PATH and how they collaborated together on this problem that faced the residents of Ahmadi. All I can say is that I wish there were more companies in Kuwait like KOC and that I’m also really glad we have an organization like K’s PATH to take care of animals in Kuwait.
The video is in Arabic but at around 2:50 into the video John Peaveler the co-founder of K’s PATH comes in and talks in English. [YouTube]
Kuwait in The Facts of Life
This is a short clip from a really old show from the late 70s staring George Clooney. Whats interesting here is that in the clip George Clooney’s character gets a Kuwait Times newspaper delivered to him and he talks about his experience living in Kuwait. Just press play above and it should start at the right moment. [YouTube]
Thanks Hish
Update: The episode above is from 1985
Suits
I’ve got a bunch of shows I’m currently enjoying but my favorite has to be Suits. If you read the description it won’t sound exciting but it’s really a great show about two lawyers but it’s nothing like regular lawyer shows. Check out the trailer below.

Not sure if it’s being aired on Showtime but it’s available in the iTunes Store and on Hulu.
The bull went swimming
Turns out the bull/cow (we’re still undecided) I posted about the other day who was roaming the Gulf Road ended up going for a swim. [YouTube]
Mustache – شنب from Meqdad Al Kout on Vimeo.
The locally produced short film Mustache is finally available to watch online. I haven’t watched it yet so glad they finally uploaded it.
My Story with War 1990
A first person account of the 1990 Iraqi invasion. Now with English subtitles. [YouTube]
There’s got to be a safer way of doing this. [YouTube]
Kuwaiti Entrepreneurs
Kuwaitism (yes he’s back) posted a BBC report he found on Kuwaiti entrepreneurs. It’s a very short piece which is disappointing since it’s a very interesting topic. I really couldn’t figure out what BBC was trying to say with this piece, all I understood was that the Kuwaiti government helps Kuwaitis set up their businesses, so why aren’t there more entrepreneurs? That’s fine as an intro but they spoke to just 2 entrepreneurs and one government official and we’re really left with no investigation or conclusion. For example I’m sure laziness isn’t the only reason for lack of entrepreneurship, what about the fact that the market is flooded with international chains? Maybe rents are too high as well? I’m not sure since I am just guessing here which is why I would have liked BBC to really dig into this subject. If you can’t see the video above for some reason here is the [Link]
A video from his recent tour where he pokes fun out of Dubai and Lebanon. Some of it funny but some of it is just so so. [YouTube]
I wonder how easy it would be for the authorities to track down the uploader. I am a huge fan of graffiti but not on public property like highway underpasses. [YouTube]
