A guy basically decided to analyze CNN’s main page and remove everything except the real news. Turns out the majority of the articles on the main page are mostly just entertainment and gossip. I also noticed this recently, CNN’s main page is being filled up with articles of the kind I would find on The Superficial or Socialite’s Life except CNN was always a few days slower. [Link]

I have been watching UFC since morning starting from UFC 1 all the way to UFC 7. There were some amazing fights especially since the original UFC fights didn’t have any rules.

My favorite fight so far has to be Emmanuel Yarborough vs Keith Hackney. Emmanuel is 2.06 meters and weighs 280KG while Keith is 90KG and 1.8 meters tall, so it was a match between David and Goliath. Emmanuel is actually in the guiness book of records for being the largest athlete. Anyway he ended up losing the fight but Keith actually fractured his hand while trying to knock Emmanuel out. He later became known as Keith “The Giant Killer” Hackney. He must have punched Emmanuel’s head like 30 times before the fight was stopped, it was like trying to put down a giant bear using only a spoon.

Thats whats cool about the old UFC’s, no rules, no weight classes and a lot of blood.

Mobile phone prices are like the same price as Kuwait. Rent is wayyyyy more expensive. They don’t build one building, they build them in large clusters all at once. Drivers are worst then Kuwait. Girls are all like half naked. Kuwait is greener. Emirates mall is like Marina Mall times ten. They have larger variety of restaurants. Finally, consumers are not treated like idiots, they are valued.

So internet in the room is like 3KD an hour but internet in the lobby is free, so you can guess where I am sitting. Flight was great. Emirates have like 400 or something channels of on demand video. By the time I figured out what I wanted to watch we had already landed. Think I am going to go to “The Agency” now drink some wine and order some sushi from the Japanese restaurant next door.

Two nights stay in Dubai, taking my Eastpak backpack, so whats in the bag?

This is why they are giving tons of donuts away for free at Marina Mall. The employees are currently training on how to make the donuts. In the picture above the employees are watching the donuts roll out of the machine while their trainer explains to them the process.

Again the biggest surprise here is Mac & More. Their prices are slowly creeping closer to zMacShops. Mac City on the other hand I don’t know why they are still open.

While driving to Maki yesterday at Marina Waves I noticed the Skate Park at the side of the parking lot was open. I had passed it a few times before but the lights were always off but yesterday they were open and some kids were riding their BMX bikes up and down the ramps. On the way out I got a better look (while still driving by in the car) and I noticed the two kids had similar blue helmets and bikes. This is why I am guessing that the park actually rents out bikes, boards, blades and gear. I should probably pass by another day and try to get more details unless a reader already has more details and can share it with us. It looks wayyyy better then the one that used to be located in the basement of the Salmiya palace Hotel.

I own this camera, I purchased it I think around 2 months ago for like $170 and its now selling for $132. Its really a great camera and I lug it around everywhere I go. My Nikon D70 is too big and doesn’t fit in my laptop bag while the Canon A530 is very compact and can even record videos at a resolution of 640×480. I was in Hawalli yesterday when I decided to pass by the store Best Buy Kuwait (not official Best Buy just a copy). Turns out they had the Sony UMPC on display. I had only seen it before online so it was cool seeing it in person. Its super tiny and I really wish Apple would come up with something like it. They were selling it for KD699. [Link]
