Some guy just spent over $380,000 on a house for his dog! The dog house has a 52inch plasma, temperature controlled spa, retina scan entry, automated food and water dispensers, two bedrooms and a ton of more stuff. I love dogs but this is extreme, actually, this is beyond extreme! [Link]

Please come and browse through the tables pilled up with hand made items, fabric related decorations, Christmas ornaments, pearls, Swarovski crystals, labels… Animal Friends League will have a table promoting their work here in Kuwait with pictures of the animals in need of a friendly home.

Please DO NOT PARK on the street, there is some construction going on right in front of our house and there is plenty of room in the Co-op parking lot.

The Animal Friends League in Kuwait recently rescued 15 dogs that were living outdoors on a farm in Kebd. The dogs were never taken indoors not even during the extreme summer heat. AFL have some pictures and more information on their website plus a YouTube video. Fourteen of the dogs were Saluki’s and are now being prepared to be transported to the USA where they will be handed over to the Saluki Tree of Life Alliance. They are seeking donations to help with this and you can get more information about that on their website [Here]

Nat just told me about this website here in Kuwait where people sell and buy pets from. Sounds normal until you actually check the site and realize people are selling everything from ponies and monkeys to crocodiles and cheetahs. My favorite though has to be the rare french dwarf goat, I wish I had a farm so I could get it. [Link]

Update: I called and asked about the cheetah, its 8 months old and the guy is selling it for KD1,200. He had four originally and this is the only one left. Is this even legal? How are people allowed to buy and sell cheetah’s or tigers?? Why isn’t there some kind of control? This is really upsetting.

Update2: Here is a video on YouTube of a guy in Kuwait who had a baby cheetah in his house. Although its very cute keep in mind this is a WILD animal and not a house pet so what he’s doing is very cruel. [Link]

Animal Care is a local online pet shop that sells pet stuff including toys, food and accessories. They even deliver items to your doorstep. I think its a great idea specially since the only place that sells decent stuff is Sultan Center and they always seem to run out of stuff. [Link]

Two days ago the most beautiful goat in the world contest was held in Saudi Arabia. The goat pictured above won first place in what has to be the strangest beauty contest I’ve ever heard of. In the morning I noticed there was a pigeon outside one of my windows. I didn’t think of it much until awhile ago I noticed it was still there. I figured I would scare the pigeon off so with the lights in the room closed I creeped up to the window with my flashlight and then suddenly shone the light onto the pigeon and banged on the glass. To my horror I saw the most disgusting thing ever. The pigeons right eye looked completely fucked, it was really gross and I was standing there just like 10cm away from it from the other side of the glass. The pigeon didn’t even fly off it just stood there staring back at me. I took some pictures of the pigeon and if you want to see it you can although its kinda gross, just click on continue.
