This past weekend I had chicken shawerma twice from Badar Al Badoor. Some people had told me the place had the best shawerma in Kuwait so I had to try it out and I wasn’t disappointed.

I passed by Thursday night around 8ish and the place was packed. I parked my car and went down and ordered 3 shawermas and a coke. By default they put garlic, tomato and chicken in the shawerma and I decided to try it like that. They use samoon bread (the hotdog bread) which is my favorite when it comes to shawermas. After 5 minutes of waiting I got my shawerma and went back to my car to eat. My first impression was a mixed one. The shawerma was good but something was off and I concluded it was the tomatoes, they just made the sandwich a bit too moist and ao I decided I would try it again the next night without them.

Friday night also around 8ish I went back to Badar Al Badoor. The place was even more packed then the previous night but I went ahead and ordered 2 shawermas without tomatoes. 5 minutes later I was back in my car eating my shawermas and realizing that the tomatoes definitely were the problem. The shawermas tasted much better without them and I could taste the garlic even better.

So how did they rate? Well I wouldn’t call them the best shawermas in Kuwait, so far my best experience has been with Sajj House. Badar Al Badoor shawermas are very normal which is a very good thing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them, the bread, the garlic, the chicken, it all tastes good but just lacks the tiny bit of extra oomph to make the shawerma extra special. From all the hole in the wall shawerma places I have tried Badar Al Badoor is the best so far, its just lacking a signature flavor. The shawermas cost 250 fils which is standard with shawerma places in this class so overall the final score is a 4 out of 5. Now I need to try the shawerma place in Salwa which many people were recommending.

update: Since I posted this review a few months ago I have been back to Badar Al Badoor numerous of times and I have to say the shawermas have gotten much better. If I was to review Badar Al Badoor today I would give it a 4.5 or even a 5. Its currently my favorite shawerma place.

I think today has to be the most busiest day of my life. Its been non stop work since morning and I still got a lot to do. I have 2 reviews though I want to post up tonight, hopefully I am not to exhausted once I get home.

This was a big surprise today morning. I was expecting my helmets to arrive tomorrow since they shipped from my USWS mailbox on Thursday at midnight but a few minutes ago the receptionist calls me and tells me I have packages at the front desk. My bike helmets and gloves had arrived. The solid matt black one in the picture is mine while the crackhead helmet with the skeletons and flames is Nats. I got these Scorpion helmets after Z District recommended them because the linear is extremely comfortable.

Holla started work today at my agency. Regular readers might at one point or another read his “colorful” comments on the blog or maybe his posts in the forum. I met him in person a few weeks ago and I found out he was actually a copywriter. Since I had been looking for a copywriter to partner up with at work, he ended up applying here and getting the job. We are like Ponch and Jon from CHiPs except Holla is still missing a bike.

I was looking at the pictures and I was like why would a boat dock inside a boat? Then the rest of the pictures were loaded and I was just like what the fuck?! Its really weird. [Link]

It’s been a while since I have written about Geo but its only because its really hot outside so we haven’t been doing any activities lately. He has learned a new trick though and thats opening drawers. He uses his front paw to open drawers around the house looking for stuff to play with. It started off when I put away one of his favorite (but very loud and annoying) toy in one of my drawers. He spent 30 minutes trying to get it out and finally figured out how. Since then he has become an expert and I spend a lot of time going around the house closing opened drawers. I am trying to teach him how to close the drawers once he opens them but he isn’t learning that trick.

Finally got it. More info later, need to shower and leave now. I hate showering in the summer since there is no cold water, its like I have two options, hot water, or really fucking hot water.

When I was in high school the scariest word to me was maba7es. Ten years later and the scariest word to me is still maba7es. I just sent in my article to KTM magazine yesterday and a few minutes ago I get a phone call from them telling me that my article is illegal and if they go ahead and print it I might get a visit from the maba7es. They wanted to know if I was OK with the risk. I told them I would think about it and give them a call back tomorrow with my answer. A very nice start to my journalistic career.

After nearly 40 hours of burn in, the AKG’s are starting to sound really cool. The headphones are light and comfortable, my previous closed back headphones were the Technics DJ1200 and those were very uncomfortable and would hurt my ears after long use. The AKG’s so far are comfortable BUT the only problem I have is that they are barely fitting me. AKG is an Austrian company and I don’t know any Austrians but I am guessing they all have small heads because I have the headphones now expanded to the largest size and they are just barely fitting me perfectly. Other then that no complaints.. so far.
