This link contains some beautiful shots from the preparations to the summer Olympics that will be held in Beijing. The picture above is of a remote control car whose duty is to transport javelins back to the athletes. Lots of shots with their descriptions, check them out. [Link]

KOR Water Bottle
This is by far the coolest looking reusable water bottle I have seen. It goes on sale next month for $30. [Link]
Dress Code Guide
Don’t know the difference between Business Casual and Smart Casual? Then this site should prove to be helpful. Just select a dress code, the weather condition and if you need it for night or day and the website will tell you what you can and can’t wear. [Link]
The Mall of Kuwait
This is a video presentation of The Mall of Kuwait which is currently being built. Judging by the video it looks pretty big but the most impressive thing has to be the 750 seat performance hall. The mall was originally scheduled to open this year but I don’t know if thats still the target time. [YouTube]
Aramex new logo and new prices
I just got an email from Aramex regarding their new prices for Shop&Ship. Starting July 1st the new prices are as follows:
First ½ kg K.D. 3.000
Each additional ½ kg K.D. 2.500
Thats nearly a 25% increase! I also noticed Aramex launched a new identity with the prices, perfect timing. Welcome to the new revamped and more expensive Aramex… I am sticking to U Shop We Ship for my packages.
In May my Macbook stopped working and it pissed me off. Around two weeks ago I decided to take it to Digits (used to be called Mac&More) in Marina Mall to have them check it out. I wanted to find out exactly what was wrong with it and how much it would cost to fix. Well today I found out that my MacBook will be repaired for free under Apple’s global warranty program. Even though I purchased my MacBook from Amazon my warranty it still being honored here in Kuwait which is really cool. Now I have to wait 2-4 weeks for the part to arrive but that isn’t a problem since I have my Eee PC to keep me company.
There are advantages to the weather we are having at the moment. The first positive thing is that it isn’t getting that hot. Since there is no sun the weather is cooler than usual which is great. The other positive thing is I think it adds character to Kuwait. London is known for the rain, Dubai for the humidity and now Kuwait for the dust!
Nokia E71 is official.
As of yesterday, the E71 has officially been announced by Nokia. While being successor to the E61i, the best phone I have ever owned, would make it worthy enough to be a great phone. Nokia have sealed the deal by throwing in longer battery life, 3.2mp (AutoFocus) camera, HSDPA, a faster processor in a package much slimmer than any previous Nokia offerings. [Link]
While the apple fanboys will be fumbling about trying to find a unlocked 3G iphone, you can catch the E71 at your local reseller next month for a little over 130KD. (It also comes in white/stainless)

TIME magazine has put together a collection of the 50 best websites for 2008. I initially thought the list would be filled with mainstream stuff but surprisingly its not. The list is actually interesting with lots of surprises, I mean even UrbanDictionary.com is on their list! [Link]
Doesn’t look very safe to me… [YouTube]
New stores
D*lush opened up a new branch in Salmiya yesterday behind Al Bustan mall. Also a new cookie store opened up at The Avenues food court called Crumbs and supposedly their cookies are really good.
Two days ago the most beautiful goat in the world contest was held in Saudi Arabia. The goat pictured above won first place in what has to be the strangest beauty contest I’ve ever heard of. If you follow the link you can see more pictures from this event, doesn’t anyone else think these are some of the weirdest looking goats? [Link]
I LOVE YOU CHEETOS
If you think a guy in speedos pretending to make out with a larger than life Cheetos is offensive, then please don’t watch this video! [YouTube]
Marble Slab at Kout Mall
I was at Kout Mall tonight and noticed that Marble Slab had opened up there. I first tried it when I was in Dubai at the Mall of Emirates and they now have a branch here in Kuwait. For those of you who don’t know what Marble Slab is, its an ice cream shop in which you choose the flavor of ice cream you want and then you get to choose what kind of topping you want mixed in with your ice cream. They have a gigantic collection of toppings to choose from but I always go for chocolate ice cream mixed with mini marshmallows. [Link]
Two more Skylines
The other day I posted a picture of the first Nissan Skyline GT-R in Kuwait filling up at a gas station. Turns out the Nissan dealership Al-Babtain got their first shipment of Skylines which consisted of 3 cars, 2 being red and 1 a dark grey. The picture I posted the other day was of the grey one and my friend just sent me the picture above of the two red ones. The cars from this shipment and the next two shipments have already all been sold. Each car went for KD30,000.
