I am at the Heathrow Airport waiting to board my flight back to Kuwait. Security here was crazy but honestly this is how it should be in every airport. I noticed outside the airport terminal is a high concrete wall, I am assuming this was recently added after the incident in Scotland where some guys slammed their jeep through the terminal and tried to blow it up. My sister emailed me my old class photo taken in the early 80’s while I was in Sunshine School here in Kuwait (its now called BSK). Its a pretty cool retro looking picture with lots of nice colors, check out the larger version [Here]

I am at the Kuwait airport now waiting for my flight to Beirut. I was planning on having breakfast at Fuddruckers but I missed it by 15 minutes (they stop breakfast at 11AM).

I got a nice surprise today morning, a little cupcake from Little Treats. Turns out they are opening a store at the beginning of the month so they sent me and my partner at work an invite for the opening day. Their store is going to be located on the mezzanine floor in the Wataniya Complex in Salmiya. I think thats the small shopping center across the street from NBK. If you don’t know what Little Treats is you can check out my previous post on them. [Link]
Remember I posted about tattoos and the small tattoo place in the Marina Mall food court? Well I passed by today and its not there! I saw it two days ago and now its gone. Did they shutdown or did they get shutdown?

I am at the airport now waiting for my Gulf Air flight back to Bahrain then Kuwait. The airport here sucks and the business lounge is a joke. I can’t wait to get to the Bahrain airport… (Posted from my Nokia e61i)

Today we managed to do so much. Started the morning with Euro Disney and ended the afternoon shopping. Val d’europe turned out to be disappointing, 90 percent of the shops were franchises available in Kuwait. So we didn’t spend too long there before getting back to our hotel. After freshening up we left again for more shopping this time at a department store called LaFayette which is amazing. Anyway now I am back working and it looks like todays meeting is going to be really long. I love the design of this studio, which wish we had this style in Kuwait. (Posted from my Nokia e61i)

We left Euro Disney after around 2 hours of walking around and getting on a few rides. We are now at Val d’europe where we will have lunch and do some shopping. We are now coming back to Kuwait tomorrow, a day ahead of schedule. Thank you Izgerty for pointing out Val d’europe, so far it looks like a really nice area. (Posted from my Nokia e61i)
My Gulf Air flight arrived at 7AM to Paris. Kuwait to Bahrain was a pretty lame flight, the plane was really old and the seats extremely uncomfortable. Bahrain to Paris was a completely different story. This was my first experience with sleeper seats and I love them. Now they aren’t as comfortable as real beds but they are more than enough for long night flights where you need to get some sleep. The entertainment system is crap though, its nothing like Emirates on demand system, its just the regular old system still used on Kuwait Airways flights.
After landing and checking in to the hotel we decided to do a bit of sight seeing since our first meeting was at 5PM. The weather here is great, yes its raining but I miss rain. It feels like winter and its hard comprehend how its 52 degrees in Kuwait and just 15 degrees in Paris! I should pick up my work schedule tonight and hopefully I will have some free time to do some shopping and take in the sights. [YouTube]
I am heading out to the airport now. Any post after this is either going to be from my hotel room in Paris or via my phone. I am taking the Gulf Air flight, Kuwait > Bahrain > Paris. My flight leaves at around 10PM and I should get to Paris by 7AM. Over and out!
I sent the post below from the Kuwait Bookshop via 3G. The size of the image is small but when you click it you get a bigger one although at a very low resolution. I could probably figure out how to make it a higher resolution but then each post will cost me 500fils or something crazy like that considering I will be photo blogging while roaming..
So an earthquake hit Kuwait and I missed it since I was sleeping. Sucks! [Link]

I have decided to no longer listen to my friends when it comes to shawerma places. First I got sent to Happy Duck which turned out to be a disaster and then I got sent to Weekend which also turned out to be as bad. Weekend is located opposite AUK in Salmiya and although I’ve passed by it numerous of times before, I never thought about trying it until recently when a friend recommended I give it a shot.
I ordered two chicken shawermas and a coke. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity I got the sandwiches, drove a bit further down the road parked my car and started eating. Its always best to have the shawerma while its hot and fresh but in Weekend’s, case I don’t think that really matters. The sandwich wasn’t greasy but that’s the only thing positive I have to say about it. The garlic was too liquid like and didn’t really taste like garlic although it smelled like garlic. The chicken was too moist and tasted terrible. The quantity of the chicken in the sandwich was also little although thinking about it now, that might be a good thing since the chicken was really bad anyway.
The cost of the chicken shawerma is 250fils which is normal. My advice? Drive down a further 20 meters to Malek al 3aseer (King of Juice) who make a much better shawerma. Final score 1.5 out of 5.
