On Friday K’S PATH received a call about a cat that had been stuck in a very tall palm tree for several days. The good Samaritans who called in had made several attempts to get the cat down but were unsuccessful. So, yesterday morning K’S PATH sent out their animal rescue team which proceeded to ask the fire department for help due to the height the cat was found at. K’S PATH, the good Samaritans and the Fire Department worked together to remove the cat and bring it down to safety. Below are some pictures from the rescue.
If you missed the Gulf Run car show at 360 Mall this weekend, a reader has uploaded pictures he took at the event and you can check them out [Here]

A reader emailed me regarding this China Garden ad that appeared in the latest Bazaar’s Dining Guide. Him and his friends found it very offensive. What do you think?

Dance Like Nobody’s Watching is a cool concept that has been floating on YouTube for awhile now. The idea is you go to a public place, put on your headphones and then dance as if you’re at home alone while recording yourself doing it. After posting a video on 248PM last week called “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching: Airport“, I decided I wanted to do one as well. And I did. I headed to Souk Mubarkiya, found a cool spot and then recorded myself dancing to a song. It was hilarious and a lot of fun since no one around me knew what the hell was going on since they couldn’t hear any music and all they saw was some random white guy dancing in the middle of the road.
This was supposed to be just a quick test because I wanted to see if I had the balls to actually do it but a short clip got leaked out (complicated story) and somehow it ended up on YouTube which you can watch above. Since this was just a trial video I’m not planning to upload the full version online but the second one should be better and that one I’ll definitely upload onto YouTube myself. [YouTube]
Thanks to everyone who emailed me about this. It’s always cool to have a photo or post featured on a popular blog. [Link]
I’d say it’s just slightly better than their previous version. The colors are much more subtle but I think all the graphics and icons are a bit too big and bulky. You can check it out yourself [Here]
If you’re into video games the video above is a bunch of interviews with some professional video game players on gamers in Kuwait. Not too exciting to watch unless you’re really into this. [YouTube]
Does anyone know of a company that specializes in cleaning and sanitizing mattresses and furniture from dust mites and other bacteria? I have a friend that’s allergic to them and I knew of one company that specialized in this called Green Cleaners Company but they shut down awhile back.
I needed a bike carrier for my FJ and after looking at the locally available options I decided to order the Thule 970XT off Amazon. I didn’t want one of those flimsy bike carriers you strap onto the back of the car but instead wanted one that would fit into my FJ’s trailer hitch. I also didn’t want one that I’d have to bolt on and off since I knew it would be a hassle and I’d either end up leaving the carrier always on or not using it at all. After a bit of research I found the Thule 970XT.
There are a number of cool features in this Thule bike carrier. First because it’s mostly made of aluminum it’s pretty light weight and I can easily carry it with one hand. The second really cool feature is the fact you can fasten it and unfasten it to your car in under a minute and I’m not exaggerating here. Instead of using bolts to secure the bike carrier to the trailer hitch, the Thule 970XT uses an ingenious knob which you can tighten and loosen up to fasten into the hitch. This means I can leave the bike carrier in my trunk and hook it to my hitch only when I need to and very easily. It’s a really practical bike carrier to use and I don’t think there is any other one that can be hooked up to a car quicker than this.
There are other small cool features as well for example the knob that fastens the hitch to the trailer has a lock to prevent the carrier from being stolen. The bike carrier can also tilt down forward so you can open the trunk without removing the hitch and finally the bike carrier also comes with a locking cable so you can secure your bikes onto the carrier and not worry about anyone stealing them (easily).
I ordered the bike carrier from Amazon for around KD90 and had it shipped to my friends APO mailbox but, I just checked and Mr Babu are selling it for KD140 which is probably as much or less then what you would pay if you shipped it via Aramex. Here are some links:
Bazaar released their 2013 Dining guide this month and for the first time ever they’re making it available as a digital download so you can read it on your iPad, computer or any other device that’s capable of reading PDFs. It’s 500 pages big and if you want to download it just follow this [Link]
Note: You need to create an account or login using your Facebook account to download the PDF.
I spotted the magazine above with tattoos marked over with a black marker. Don’t think I’ve ever seen tattoo’s censored before, boobs and ankles yes but not tattoos.
A reader scanned the car ad above from a 1965 Kuwait Little Theatre show programme. I love how the dealerships phone number is just 5 digits. Check out the larger version of the picture above [Here]
