I am back from todays shoot. Was out in the sun since 9AM. I asked Nat to give me our sunblock in the morning but she couldn’t remember where she put it so now I look like a tomato, my face and neck are burnt. Thank you nat!

This site makes me really jealous. They have a contest where they try to find the “smallest, coolest apartments”. Some of the stuff is really good and it depresses me to see them do so much with such little space while I can’t figure out what to do with my huge place. We called the vet today, turns out the reason why Chips our family dog is sick and losing weight is because he is old and not in good health. The vet is recommending we put him to sleep, and thats what we will probably end up doing. He has been in the family for over 8 years now. He isn’t perfect, no one outside our family seems to like him but thats because he doesn’t like them (he has psychological issues). I think the day before we put him to sleep I will set up an open buffet for him with all his favorite food. He will have an unlimited supply of cheese, french fries, burgers and chocolate.

I was suggesting after we put Chips to sleep that we get him stuffed. That way we can still have him in the house. My parents are totally against it though and they wouldn’t want it in their house. Nataly also doesnt want it in our apartment since she thinks the ghost of Chips will end up haunting our place.

Update: Just got back from the vet awhile ago. We put him to sleep…

Update: I had a headace yesterday night so I couldn’t write a lot. Basically Boing Boing had a post on Anime murals in Montreal. When I was on vacation 2 years ago in Montreal I took a picture of this huge and really detailed mural on this wall. So I emailed them the link and they added it.

This would look really cool on my desk at work, plus its going to be cheap. It won’t replace my fantasy of owning an Aibo, but it will do until I could afford one. Can’t wait for Amazon.com to start selling them, here it a bit of info on the iDog:

The iDog is capable of changing its feelings from happy to angry by moving it’s ears and rotating the head and by changing the color of the 7 LED lights on its head. The idog music bot has stored music sequences and melodies it will play based on the interaction with its sensors. For instance it gets happy when users touch its ears and pad on its head. It gets surprised when users touch its nose or wave in front of him. The Sega iDog will become angry when users touch its tail. A MP3 Player like the iPod can be attached to the iDog via 3.5mm audio cable. IT has a mono-speaker built-in. A microphone is also present in the iDog.

Maybe its a bit too early in the morning to think about food but I couldn’t wait till lunch to share this link. There is this guy who wanted to break the record for the amount of calorie’s in a sandwich, the previous record was 8,500 caolories and he wanted to make a sandwich with a lot more. So, he built his own custom sandwich to compete and his total amount of calories was 29,500! Its like one bite and you are suddenly overweight. [Link]

Just signed up for a @Budwesier.com webmail account, its free ofcourse. They only give you 5MB worth of space which isn’t a lot but on the plus side you can check you regular POP account emails. I guess this email address is pretty cool if you are a major Budweiser fan, personally I am not, would rather have an @jackdaniels.com account..

We have 2 PSP’s at the office, a Japanese version and an American version. We have 2 copies of Need for Speed, a Jap version and a US version. The problem is we can’t get the two systems to connect for a head to head race! Wtf?! I thought we would be able to do this even though we have two PSP’s from different regions.

This is what I have heard from various sources:

– Al-Shaya are going to close all their shops at Souk Sharq and move to the new 5th Avenue mall opening on the 5th ring road

– Blue Fig is closing down because its not doing good

– Al-Shaya purchased Blue Fig’s location and are opening 3 new restaurants in its place, one of which will be Le Pain Quotidien

I just got home from Star Wars, its 12:30AM. Yeah the movie started at 12:00AM but it was such a fucked up experience. From what I saw of the movie though, it was looking REALLY good, like REALLY good, BUT the Marina Mall theater is just terrible.

The issue I had was with the sound. The first 15 minutes of the movie was this huge gigantic space battle with explosions and chaos non stop. The sound though was incredibly low and was coming out of the front speakers only. I swear I could hear the guy next to me eating his popcorn! I told Nat we should just leave, she suggested I should tell someone. So I did, I went up to one of the movie ushers and told him to raise the volume, he went and told some Kuwaiti guy who was sitting watching the movie with us. He went out and came back in a minute later but the sound was still the same. So I told Nat lets leave, I wasn’t going to watch the movie like this. So we got up and left, once we reached the main entrance where we got the tickets from, I saw a guy who looked like management, I asked him who I should I ask a refund from. He looked at the tickets and told me that once the tickets were cut that I couldn’t get a refund. He didn’t bother to ask why I wanted a refund or why I looked pissed and wanted to leave, nothing. So I proceeded to tell him that I paid KD5 to watch Star Wars and you can’t expect me to watch it in a theater where the sound system is lower then mine at home. I told him the sound is too low and I already complained about it and no one did anything. He told me that no one had told him about the sound, he assured me he would fix it and told me to go back to my seat. So I did. I got back inside, by now I had already missed a good chunk of the movie but I was like its ok, at-least the sound will get fixed. It never did! It didn’t get louder and it didn’t go into surround.

Finally we decided fuck the refund, lets just get out of here. If the movie when action packed was low and imagine how a normal scene would be. When I got back up to the main entrance, I took a feedback form, filled it in and dropped it in the feedback box. I don’t know if anyone will read it or care, but I just had to do it. Now I am back home, disappointed and pissed off. The Marina Mall cinema totally ruined my movie rush. I was planning to start booking tickets online and make this a weekly thing but now I don’t think I will since its just better off watching a movie at home on my sound system.

What did I learn today? Marina Mall theater is one of the worst I have ever been to, and that KD1 for a large popcorn at the cinema doesn’t seem expensive after passing by Starbucks first.
