I am at the airport now waiting for my pane back to Kuwait. I just had lunch at Cafe Matik which I think is probably the most boring airport cafe in the world. Its always been this bad at the Beirut airport, for as long as I can remember there has always been a monopoly when it came to food at the airport here. The old restaurant at the old Kuwait airport is like 100 times better than this one. Anyway I am just sitting here watching people going by wishing there was a McDonalds for me to pig out at. Mark wouldn’t give us access yesterday cause my picture was so much better than his.

I am now on the final shot for today, so far everything has been going smoothly with no major surprises or issues. It never ended up raining. I got another email from ACK which I will post once I get back to the hotel. It was something about tickets being for KD30 (or was it 40) and are only available for sale to ACK students and family members. Will post the full email later. (Posted from my Nokia e61i)

I am glad I brought t-shirts with me since the weather here is amazing. We were expecting thunderstorms but yesterday the sun came up so we turned out to be really lucky. I am currently on my way to the first shoot location of the day. I have a total of 4 different situations that need to be shot by the end of today and 3 more tomorrow. (Posted from my Nokia e61i)

When you save up enough money, open up a magazine stand in the airport AFTER the immigration in the location pictured above. And unlike the magazine place outside in the main airport, you will accept Knet as a means of payment. (Posted from my Nokia e61i)

I got through immigration without a problem. I was worried I might be banned from traveling due to my speeding tickets but luckily I am not. I am at McDonalds having pankcakes, I wanted a quarter pounder but for some stupid reason when they are serving breakfast they don’t make burgers! What is the world coming to? McDonalds is refusing to make me a burger! (Posted from my Nokia e61i)

I am traveling tomorrow to Beirut for 3 nights so I was just checking moi.gov.kw to see if I have a travel ban and while I was there decided to check on my speeding tickets. I was hoping they had miraculously disappeared but instead I was greeted with a new amount, KD680. Since the last time I checked another ticket got added to the system and its dated October 31st. This is a good sign because in October and November my average speed was higher than the rest of the year so 1 ticket for October is good and now I am hoping November isn’t going to be bad. I’ve been looking for wasta to solve my tickets issue since I heard without wasta I will most likely serve jail time and although that sounds really fun I currently can’t fit it into my schedule.
While at the MOI website I decided to check out other things like my car insurance. Turns out I have two cars and a bike registered under my name that have expired insurance. My car I found out about last week but the other car and my bike I didn’t know about. I don’t even know what the other car is actually, the Wrangler is in Nat’s name. Weird.
Anyway I still can’t figure out how to check if I have a travel ban. I guess I will find out tomorrow.
It’s old but I just found out about it. Don’t get your hopes up, its stupid, lame, dumb and annoying. But its funny. [YouTube]
Here are some other remakes by other teens, all as stupid and dumb and even lamer:
hello FUCK !!!! (THE MOVIE)
Hello? Fuck!
Hello??? Fuck!!!
hello, FUCK!!!!
hello? fck!
This is a video of the Flugtag event put together by BahryTV and our team comes up in the video a few times including our flight/crash. I think BahryTV is my favorite local TV station although all I have watched are the stuff they’ve uploaded online. [YouTube]

Since I will be driving the Wrangler from now on due to my speeding tickets I’ve decided to upgrade the sound system. Marzouq recently upgraded his cars sound system and it made me realize how easy a process it could be to buy everything online.
I don’t have a really huge budget to start with so I decided to take it step by step and order the different components one at a time. The first thing I ordered was my head unit. There are only two brands I was considering, Blaupunkt and Alpine and after a bit of research I decided on the Alpine iDA-X001 (pictured above) which I’ve had my eyes on since before it was released. Its a digital media player that connects to the iPod and allows you to control it using a full color ipod like display. The only downside in the unit is it doesn’t have a CD player but since my music is all ripped onto my iPod anyways its really not a big problem. I found it on Crutchfield for $336 and that includes all the cabling, adapters and harnesses needed to install the unit into the Wrangler.
Next step is replacing the speakers followed by getting an amp and finally some kind of subwoofer enclosure that doesn’t eat up too much space from my tiny trunk. I am looking at JL Audio for the speakers and either Rockford Fosgate or JL Audio for the amps. The subwoofer enclosure will probably be from some generic brand but the sub itself will be either Rockford Fosgate or JL Audio.
If you are thinking on upgrading your car sound system, Crutchfield is a great place to start. You just tell them what car you have and they will tell you what fits. [Link]
