A friend just received an SMS saying an unknown mob are throwing rocks at the MBC and Al Arabiya TV station buildings in Bneid al Gar area. The SMS doesn’t say why.
update: Sorry it’s MBC not NBC, I just edited the post.
A friend of mine at work just came back from Spain and while there she got me a gift from the Lomography Shop. This reminded me of my Holga camera which I haven’t used since the last time the sky was blue. Shooting outdoor pictures in Kuwait during the summer sucks because we don’t have blue skies neither do we have any clouds. This is why my favorite time of the year to take pictures is during the winter.
Holga is this really cheap camera I bought awhile back which takes pictures using medium format film. Since the camera is cheap the pictures have this really strange feel and effect to them which ends up making all the pictures look really trendy.
I have some pictures I shot with the camera attached to this post which I took 2 years ago at Marina Mall and as you can see you could never achieve the same with a digital camera. Now the coolest thing about the Holga is the price, it costs just $20 on Amazon. Thats a really good deal. [Amazon Link]
Mughrabi has pictures of the Zain launch ceremony that was held yesterday. They are on his flickr account and you can check them by clicking [Here]
Ummm this is pretty weird… [Link]
So yesterday I was kinda pissed that I forgot my phone in Dubai but now I am actually enjoying it. It’s been a peaceful day so far and although I should be getting my phone back tomorrow via DHL I think I am going to keep it turned off and see how long I can last without it. If I want a pager (beeper) can I still get one here in Kuwait?
I love Muthana Complex in Kuwait City because it has a lot of interesting shops and the latest I found is called Tea Art. Tea Art as you can guess from the name specializes in Tea and their stock is all imported directly from China. They sell Black, Green, Oolong, Pu-erh, White, Blooming and Red Tea. Their prices range greatly and they even have tea that costs over KD2,000 for 100 grams. I asked if I could try it and the answer was simply no, expensive teas can not be tried before purchase which sucks. Imagine dishing out KD2,000 for tea only to find that it tastes horrible.
They have cheaper teas that cost like KD600 and KD700 and for us regular folks they have tea that cost under KD20 and even under KD10 per 100 grams so it not all super duper expensive teas. Cheap teas (under KD20) make up the majority of their products.
If you are a tea fan they are located on the ground floor of the Muthana Complex next to elevator 6. Their phone number is 2490404.
I just tried going to www.mtc-vodafone.com to recharge Nat’s mobile when I noticed the site was down. So I decided to check www.zain.com and noticed the site is now online. I can’t seem to find the eeZee recharge link though… [Link]
Update: OK I think https://kw.zain.com/ is where the eeZee recharge link and the full website will be located. I think its currently down because they are uploading the new updated site during the middle of the night so that its fully functioning by morning time. Its 1:35AM at the moment.
Update 2: https://kw.zain.com/ is now also online.
In the dumbest move of the year, I forgot my mobile phone in Dubai.
