I have read a lot in forums on why Bose sucks but this is the first time I have actually seen an article on it. I found it via digg and its an interesting 2 part read in which the writer who is a sound system salesman discusses why Bose sucks without going into too much confusing tech talk. A week ago I got 2 liters of sorbet from Booza Booza to try out. Booza Booza belongs to the same group of young Kuwaitis that own Choowy Goowy cookies as I mentioned before. I managed to get more details on their sorbet’s from one of the owners yesterday and this is what I got.

I tried the sorbet and as I told Nat, its as if I am having a fruit salad. The sorbet is very flavored with my favorite being Mango. The Lemon is also since its tastes like lemonade. When I had it with the other the other flavors though the Lemon was too over powering so it might be best to have it alone. You can order the sorbet the same way you order the cookies and using the same number and they will deliver it to you. The price of 1 liter of sorbet costs KD4. I managed to get more information on the Mardi Gras event that will be held at the US embassy. To keep it short, its invite only.

Late last month I placed an order for the IPEVO free.1 Skpe Phone and I just received it yesterday. I have to say its just the coolest accessory for my Mac, even cooler then my CueCat!

I ordered the white version while my sister ordered the black one and they are honestly both great looking. I prefer the white since all my furniture in my computer room is white plus white is more Apple like. The phone works really great with the Mac, all you need to do is install this application which runs in the background and whenever you want to use Skype you just pick up the phone and click on the Skype button which will then launch the Skype application. You can then use the up and down controller on the phone to move up and down in your Skypes contact list, once you highlight a contact you just click the call button and you are suddenly calling your contact all without even touching your computer. Say you want to dial a number that isn’t on the contact list then you just input the numbers on the phone and press the call button. Very very easy to use just like a regular phone. The build quality of the phone is just superb and combined with its looks its hard to believe it costs only $30.

I couldn’t wait to try the phone so I quickly called my brother up in Lebanon and spoke to him a bit, even when we ran out of things to talk about I tried to stay on the phone as long as I could since it felt great using it. After I was done with my brother I tried to find someone else to call just so I could use the phone again. I really love it.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this phone. It looks great, the sound quality is great and the phone feels much more expensive then it actually costs. Its integration with the Mac and PC makes it really easy to work and use which makes it very user friendly. The only downside I could think of is that the USB cable is too long, 2.5 meters to be exact which I guess could be a good thing for some people but not if you are planning on using it with your laptop. Another downside is expect your Skype bill to go up because you really just want to call more because of it. I hated the headphone+mic combination, it just didn’t feel natural but since this looks like and feels like a phone I am more comfortable using it. The final score is a 4.5 out of 5.

Around 10 days ago a fire broke out in the building right in front of my office and today a fire broke out in the building to the side of my office. The firefighter in the picture above was really pissed off at the other firefighters driving the fire trucks since they all parked in the wrong area and he was trying to get them to park in front of the main entrance of the building. He was screaming at everyone and even at the cops who had parked their car strategically between the firetrucks and the building on fire. I snapped a few shots and then left for lunch.

The US Embassy will be having a Mari Gras event on April 18th at the US Embassy starting at 6PM. I will try to get more information on this event but I am guessing there will be a lot of beer available and I am hoping a lot of girls flashing, but most probably no topless girls just beer.

We needed an ambulance at our office because a guy with diabetes fainted due to low sugar (or something like that). We called 777 and within 5 minutes the paramedics arrived. I am impressed.

Last weekend (March 23) was the Ferrari road show. 35 Ferrari’s participated in the event and they drove 70KM from Sha’at en-Gifa’a on Bida’a Road to Kempinski Hotel Julai’a. Here are 3 pictures from that event.

Smartwrap is a small rubber stereo earphone cord manager. Basically what this means is if you have a headphone with a really long cord, the Smartwrap solves that issue for you by making it shorter.

When the Smartwraps first came out ages ago I wanted one but the only website that sold them only accepted PayPal which wouldn’t work with my Kuwaiti visa card. I then forgot about it until yesterday when I noticed someone at work had gotten one. His sister had ordered a couple and he ended up giving me a black one.

This thing rocks, its such a small simple thing but its won a couple of design awards and its just extremely practical. As you can see in the picture above I have wrapped my headphone around the Smartwrap, its annoying to have excess cable when I am working at my desk and its a lot neater now.

Anyway I just checked Amazon and they are selling the Smartwraps in packs of 3’s for like $11 so you can head over and get one incase you are interested.
