2:48AM - Entertaining Kuwait since 2003

This is something I wanted to post about ages ago and I actually thought I had but seems I never did. Most of you by now have probably seen the new rebranded Baskin Robbins at the Marina Mall food court. I really dislike their new logo, I don’t like the new colors and I don’t like the new typeface. Maybe they are trying to target young children and thats why they rebranded but as an adult I prefer the older cleaner looking logo. I actually think the new logo reminds me of Halloween for some reason..

I am extremely exhausted and both Nat and Geo are currently asleep. They went to sleep like 2 hours ago while I stayed up playing on my PSP. I won’t be able to upload the pictures today since I am going to fall asleep on the keyboard any second now. Anyway I will leave you with one picture tonight, its of Geo accepting his second place ribbon.

The iPod Hi-Fi is available at Virgin and they are selling it for KD150. It’s a lot smaller then I imagined it to be, it looks a lot bigger in the pictures.

Just got back home from the Dog Show event that was held at the British Embassy. We were there from 2PM and it was a lot of fun. Geo won second place in the Best Puppy competition which was really great. I took a lot of pictures and some video which I will probably post later today with a more detailed account on everything that happened. At the moment I am starving since I didn’t have any lunch yet so I am just gonna freshen up and then go have Chinese food.

This video recently popped up on the net showing some hefty guy shouldering his way through a crowd watching a DDR dancer in an arcade. The guy lumbers up to the pad in the middle of a game and starts to bust out some Celtic Step Dancing. After a few minutes of hopping around and toe tapping, completely oblivious to the music, the guy takes a header into the real DDR dancer. [Link]

Just got 2 invites for the Mardi Gras event that will be held at the US embassy on April 18th. It should turn out to be a lot of fun but what I am expecting will be even more fun is the dog show event at the British embassy tomorrow. I will take pictures and post them up when I get back home.

Today is the last day for the Camel races since they stop racing in the summer. The AWARE Center is arranging a final trip to the racing club in Kabad today. You can join them and take photos with the camels, and if time permits ride them. They will be meeting at the club at 2PM. Maps will be provided and admission to the club is free.

I just called the Kuwait Zoo to find out until what time they were open today and the guy was like 12PM. I figured that was because today is Thursday and maybe the Zoo have half day. So I asked the guy how about on usual days, till what time are you open? He was like 12PM, we are open till 12PM everyday except for Saturday when we are closed.

I find that a bit strange to be open till just 12PM, I know I have been there past 12 before like 5 or something. I guess this is their new summer time although I don’t count this weather summary yet..

I am sure many readers here have tried pouring ketchup from a new bottle only to fail misrebly, thats because you were doing it wrong, most probably banging it from the backside or something. This is a cool video showing a cop getting attacked by a dog (looks like a Rottweiler) and then his partner uses a taser to get the dog to back off. I am surprised the taser didn’t kill it. [Link]

Yesterday Apple releasesd BootCamp which allows you to run Windows XP on the Mac and some friends of ours from GameChew managed to get the games Oblivion and Half Life 2 running on their Macs. The games are running with the settings great quality and medium resolution. You can watch Oblivion running on the Macs by watching the 2 videos they made, check it out. [Link]

what is typogenerator?

how does typogenerator work?
the user types some text; typoGenerator searches images.google for the text and creates a background from the found images, using randomly chosen effects. then it places the text, using random effects too.
