We had no clue where the hamster was so to find him we decided to put 3 nuts bunched up together in every room and close all the doors. If we went into a room and found the nuts missing it would mean our hamster would be in that room. We did our rounds every 1 hour going room to room checking to see if any of the nuts were missing to no avail. Finally at around 12AM I decided to do my final round check before I went to sleep. While looking around downstairs for our hamster Nat yells that she found the hamster upstairs. Turns out she went into the bedroom to get ready to sleep and the hamster was just sitting there in the corner. When he saw her he got up as if he was glad he was found. We put him back in his cage and he spent like 5 minutes drinking water. I have no clue how he got up to the bedroom from downstairs where his cage was. Also the bedroom is the coldest room in the house since we have two windows open there and its windy and raining outside so I think he was glad to be back in his warm cage. Tomorrow I am going to get some steel wires and use those to tie his door closed although I doubt after this he would ever want to leave his cage again. I am so glad we found him.
We found the hamster!
Finally got my Mac to connect to my phones GPRS connection. I spent like 30 minutes now trying everything and for a while I thought it must be because both my PowerMac and Nats Powerbook are running OS10.4 but then when I tried it on my clamshell iBook which was running OS10.3 it still didn’t work. After a bit of playing around I found the solution and decided to post it here incase someone in the future does a google search looking for help.
If you have a Sony Ericsson K700 or K750 and are trying to get you Apple computer to connect to your phones GPRS connection using bluetooth, when choosing modem type choose “Ericsson R520 28.8”. I was getting a “No carrier detected” error message while using the default “Ericsson Infrared” selection for the modem which used to work perfectly fine with my older Sony Ericssons T610 and T630.
I am back online from Starbucks. Seems my phone problem at home won’t get solved till work resumes on Sunday. Anyway I was just checking my email and I found a video of Geo which was sent by his breeder in Belgium. He looks really cool and bigger then I expected he would be. Check the video out. [MOV 460KB]
Our hamster is missing!
Only a few days before our dog Geo is set to arrive our hamster has gone missing. He managed to escape from his cage and now is somewhere in our two floor apartment. We have laid out nuts for him all over the house and we are now waiting for him to come out from hiding…
Update: So far our hamsters disappearance is looking like a crossover of the tv shows Prison Break and CSI. The way our hamster escaped is just unbelievable and now we are trying to find him or traces of him using flashlights. We need to find him before our dog arrives or else there is a chance he might get eaten or something.
A post from Starbucks
A friend called me up and asked me if I wanted to do anything. I was like yeah, I want to get online. So now I am at Starbucks at Palms and I am surfing the web for free using Zajil.
A post from my PDA
I don’t have internet at home which sucks. Something is still wrong with the phonelines in my area. I am posting with my old Palm Tungsten PDA. Finally found a use for it.

Haifa Wehbe 49th Most Desirable Woman
According to AskMen.com Haifa Wehbe got voted the 49th most desirable woman in the world. Not a bad number at all but what pissed me off is Angelina Jolie is number 3!! She should be like number 80 or something. Jessica Alba came first which is ok I guess. I didn’t check the whole list but I hope Tara Reid is in it somewhere. [Link]
A friend of mine just sent me this video clip of a funny prank. Some guys from a tvshow tied a deer to a hood of a car and parked it outside a supermarket. When people pass the deer they would make it look like the deer is still alive and talking to them. Its a lot funnier then how I just explained it, just watch it and see.

Review: Choowy Goowy
Two days ago I tasted the best cookies I had ever had. A friend at work had received these cookies in a glass jar as a gift and I asked if I could taste them. The jar looked interesting and the cookies inside looked tasty so I took a cookie and tried it. It was soft, fresh, inviting and just fucking heavenly. I asked my friend where I could find these cookies since I never noticed them at Sultan Center or any other supermarket and she replied telling me she would ask her friend who sent them to her. A few minutes later I found out that Choowy Goowy is a place in Kuwait that makes and delivers cookies to your home or office. She showed me the glass jar the cookies came in and pointed towards a tiny message on the label which said “For a refill call 2626559”. I quickly picked up the phone and dialed the number to find out all I could about this interesting service.
This is basically what I found out. Choowy Goowy is a local creation, 100% made in Kuwait. I spoke to the owner who’s recipes the cookies are made from and he was very nice and polite. He spoke good English and explained to me how they originally started off in 2002 with Arabic icecream. They created a service called Booza Booza which delivered iceream to your home but since icecream is a summer product they needed a winter one also and this why in September of last year they started Choowy Goowy. Choowy Goowy makes 5 kinds of cookies, the regular Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Cookies, Cinnamon Cookies, Cookies with Macadamia and finally double chocolate cookies. A jar with a dozen cookies inside costs KD2.5 except for the double chocolate which costs KD3.5. If you have a jar and want a refill its 500fils cheaper so KD2 or KD3 depending on which cookies you order. They deliver two times a day, before lunch and in the afternoon, that way you get a fresh batch of cookies whenever you order them.
I placed my order yesterday night and told them I wanted my cookies the next day at 7PM since I would have come home from work by then. You don’t have to call a day ahead though, a fellow employee called them up in the morning and asked to have the cookies by noon and they were delivered to her without a problem. I ordered the regular chocolate chip for KD2.5 since I think the double chocolate at KD3.5 is over my cookie budget. The driver had some problems finding my building (I actually had to run down the street after his van when he missed my house) but since it was his first time I didn’t mind. I told him to remember my place the next time because I would definitely be ordering again.
We were in the middle of episode 13 of Prison Break when the cookies arrived so the timing was perfect. I quickly snapped a few pictures of the jar and then proceeded to quickly open it and let Nat have a taste of these cookies since she had only heard about them from me but never tasted them yet. Within 10 minutes I had eaten 6 cookies while Nat had eaten 2, I would have eaten more but there were only 4 left and I wanted to save some for later. The cookies were amazing. They taste similar to the Fuddruckers cookies except without the nutty flavor which I really dislike. The Choowy Goowy cookies are the best cookies I have ever tasted and the fact that this is a local creation makes me appreciate it a lot more.
Even though these cookies are the best in Kuwait I would have to give them a 4 out of 5 because of the price. Without the jar a dozen cookies cost KD2, thats double the price of the Fuddruckers cookies. On the other hand you are having the cookies delivered right to you which is a big plus and I would have to say these cookies taste atleast twice as good as the Fuddruckers ones. I would really really recommend everyone to try these cookies, they are seriously amazing. Choowy Goowy have the best cookies in Kuwait, give them a call on 2626559.
Update: The owner sent me a message saying that the reason the cookies cost more then your average cookies is because they are made with the best quality ingredients. He also stated that in Fifth Avenue New York there are some places that sell a dozen cookies for $50 and they are always sold out. Finally the cookies are also trans fats free.
For some reason I was expecting this movie to be based in a jungle on an island, I guess something like the TV show Lost. I don’t know where I got that visual in my head but it put me off about the movie and I wouldn’t have watched it if Nat hadn’t nagged the hell out of me to get it.
The main star of the movie is Ewan McGregor who I will continue to dislike more and more until he shaves his head and goes back to being the still unknown but really cool actor in Trainspotting. Ewan has become too mainstream for my taste and after starring in Moulin Rouge which I will never ever EVER watch, I have started to think he might be turning soft. In the movie The Island he wasn’t that bad, it suited him more then then his previous roles like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars and Ed in Big Fish. I think when Ewan plays the role of a young carefree guy it suits him the best.
Plot Outline: Lincoln Six-Echo (McGregor) is a resident of a seemingly utopian but contained facility in the mid 21st century. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to the “The Island” – reportedly the last uncontaminated spot on the planet. But Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence is a lie. He and all of the other inhabitants of the facility are actually human clones. Lincoln makes a daring escape with a beautiful fellow resident named Jordan Two-Delta (Johansson). Relentlessly pursued by the forces of the sinister institute that once housed them, Lincoln and Jordan engage in a race for their lives to literally meet their makers.
This movie is an action packed fast moving sci-fi which sounds good until you realize its over 2 hours long. No one wants to sit for over 2 hours watching an action movie with a plot thats so predictable that you just want to get the whole thing over with. I think thats the movies biggest fuck up, if it was a one-hour-thirty-minute in-and-out thank-you-goodbye flick then it wouldn’t have been an issue. The movie does have some really good chase scenes which were really fun to watch and that why I am giving this movie a 3.5 out of 5 instead of a 3.
Imation Flash Wristband
I am not a wristband type of guy, the only thing I wear on my wrist is my watch.. I don’t even wear any jewelery other then my wedding ring. Things might change though now that I have discovered what must be the most practical fashion accessory out there.. the Imation Flash Wristband. Its a flash stick which you simply wear around your wrist, how simple of an idea is that? It also doesn’t look bad at all just maybe a bit geeky. I couldn’t find the price but it was supposed to have been released mid January at Target stores. I checked the online Target store but I couldn’t find it and I couldn’t find on either Newegg.com or Amazon.com. [Link]
The answer.. not easy at all! You basically have to take apart the whole Powerbook just to replace the drive. Check out the step by step guide, it just gets freakier and freakier the nearer you get to the end.
I was thinking of replacing my sisters non-working drive myself, but after seeing this guide, there is no way I am even going to try doing it. [Link]
I just realized something, with all this boycotting of Danish products in Kuwait and around the Arab world I hope they won’t end up taking LEGO off the market. That would suck big time so please leave LEGO alone.
