I had breakfast at Johnny Rockets today and when I came to pay they told me Knet wasn’t working. Now after having lunch at Wasabi I came to pay and they again told me Knet wasn’t working. I am concluding from this that today is not Knet’s best day.

note: I am talking about Knet point of sales not the atm machines.

Desert Girl sent me a list of nearly all the major health clubs in Kuwait with their prices. JW Marriott looks like its the most expensive while Ramada in Riggae looks like the cheapest. Sea C Club, Marina Hotel and Corniche Club are not on this list so if anyone knows their prices just post them below in the comments. Here is the list of prices as a downloadable pdf.

Hardees is selling ice cream cones for only 50fils. I tried it and although its not as good as McDonald’s 150fils ice cream cone, for 50fils its really great.

Naif have an offer now where you can get three chicken shawermas for only 500fils. Thats around 166fils per shawerma which I think is the cheapest in Kuwait or at least the cheapest I’ve ever seen.

A reader just emailed me an informed me that the Nokia E71 is out in Kuwait and available in Sharq. There is a store there called Phone Center and they are selling it for around KD170 depending on your haggling skills. Their phone number is 2454022.

Update: After I posted this I left the house and was heading to Avenues when I got a phone call from the Nokia dealer in Fanar. I had put my name down on a waiting list for the E71 and once the Fanar branch got the phone they called me. It was around 9PM, they had just received two E71’s and they told me to come in and pick it up so I turned around and headed back to Salmiya. They were selling it for KD159 which was cheaper than what the phone was being sold for in Sharq. So far the phone is really really great and the Nokia dealer really surprised me, I was actually expecting them to forget about me and never call me once the phone came in but they actually called me right away, really great service. Thank you!

I just found out today that CAMPER is open at The Avenues. Its been open for a month now but due to the fact its in a very concealed location I didn’t find out about it until now. I passed by it and was disappointed to see such a poor collection of mens shoes. Most of the popular models weren’t available and according to the salesman they won’t be getting any more models for the time being. CAMPER is located in Avenues Phase 2, under the new food court, right under the new Johnny Rockets that opened there.

Matt Harding became famous by accident awhile back when a video of him dancing in front of landmarks in different countries became an overnight success. Now Matt is back with a new video thats been in the making for over a year. This time around he visited and danced in 42 different countries and one them was Kuwait. Its a really cool video thats sure to give you goosebumps. [YouTube]

Update: Here is a link to Matt’s journal when he was in Kuwait. I honestly thought he was a nice guy but after reading his journal I now think he’s a jerk. Watching the video above you get a feeling of world unity and peace but then when you find out the kind of person Matt really is it suddenly makes sense why the world is at war. [Link]

This is a video presentation of The Mall of Kuwait which is currently being built. Judging by the video it looks pretty big but the most impressive thing has to be the 750 seat performance hall. The mall was originally scheduled to open this year but I don’t know if thats still the target time. [YouTube]

My friend just snapped a picture of the new Nissan GT-R filling up petrol at the Mansoriya gas station. The GT-R is a US import and I am assuming its the first one in Kuwait. Pretty cool.

Q80-Chill Girl just posted on her blog that she spotted a Moleskine stand at The Sultan Center. Judging by her picture above it looks like they have the city guides, hopefully they also have the plain pocket books and other kinds of Moleskines. Its great someone finally thought about bringing them to Kuwait but whats surprising is a supermarket brought them in instead of say a bookshop or an office supply store. Good move Sultan Center, now if only they can get a larger collection of salami… [Link]

I was just checking Alexa.com and I realized my site is now ranked the 315th most popular site visited in all of Kuwait. This means from all the sites people in Kuwait visit like Google, Flickr, NBK.com, whatever.. my site ranks 315th behind them which is pretty high up. I hit the top 500 mark back in March and since then have being climbing in popularity and hopefully will continue to climb until I hit the top 100. 5car5 just posted photos of a new Ford Mustang thats being prepped to join the local police department soon.
