Dear Students and Staff,
In response to all your questions and inquiries about the Axis of Evil Show, please be advised of the following:

– Tickets for ALL ACK STUDENTS and STAFF are: 30 KD a piece
– Tickets can be purchased Tuesday and Wednesday from 12pm – 4pm at ACK ONLY—no tickets can be purchased after these dates!
– There are only 100 tickets available…buy your tickets early—there will be NO TICKET RESERVATIONS
– Students and Staff must present their ACK ID when purchasing tickets
– Students and Staff may only purchase tickets for themselves
– Tickets for family members can be purchased for 40 KD per ticket

The event will be on:
– December 17th at 6pm (ACK Auditorium)

The night of the event:
– Without your ticket and ID, you will not be permitted entry to the event.

Please note—there will be tight security for this event; Regular ACK Rules and Regulations apply.

I am now on the final shot for today, so far everything has been going smoothly with no major surprises or issues. It never ended up raining. I got another email from ACK which I will post once I get back to the hotel. I sent the post below from the Kuwait Bookshop via 3G. The size of the image is small but when you click it you get a bigger one although at a very low resolution. I could probably figure out how to make it a higher resolution but then each post will cost me 500fils or something crazy like that considering I will be photo blogging while roaming..

My MEA plane was supposed to take off at 11:15AM but after boarding the plane turns out there was going to be a delay. After 2 hours of waiting on the plane with no AC we were taken back to the airport transit area where we are now waiting for the plane to either get fixed or something. It really sucks.

note: on the bright side The 4 Cats are with us on the same flight.

Yesterday I posted about the strange trying to be funny messages on the Marina Mall bins, well it turns out they actually copied it.

I just found out about Justin.tv and it seems cool so far. Justin is a guy who wears a camera in his hat 24 hours a day 7 days a week and broadcasts everything he sees onto his website as a live video stream. So far he has been live for over 23 days, its like a real life Truman Show. [Link]

I watched The Prestige yesterday night at Marzouqs place. It was a really really good movie specially when compared to The Illusionist. The movie is over 2 hours long but its one of those movies you just wished it was even longer.

The Prestige Vs The Illusionist and Christian Bale Vs Edward Norton. No contest here because The Prestige has a much better storyline with an interesting although controversial twist at the end in addition Christian Bale’s character is more exciting. Even the other supporting actors like Hugh Jackman and Michael Caine were performing at their best. But really its the story, the idea behind The Prestige that set this movie apart from The Illusionist. The problem with The Illusionist is that very little happened and there was very little magic. The Prestige on the other hand is full of events and you get to see a ton of magic tricks and best of all they even show you how they were made, something The Illusionist was lacking.

The main plot deals with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman who are both magicians. Early in the movie an event takes place which results in the two hating each other. The whole movie is about them competing against each other.

For the final score I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. Without spoiling the movie for anyone who hasn’t watched it, the reason it didn’t get a full 5 out of 5 was because of the ending, it just wasn’t as real as the rest of the movie.

Oh and fuck Thomas Edison!

I thought Levi’s closed for good in Kuwait after their store in Al Fanar shut down but today I found another branch. I was in Dar Al Awadi complex in Kuwait City, its the really tall building with a wizards hat on top. The Levi’s store is located in the basement of the small mall there and it seemed pretty decent. I just took a quick peak and saw that the jeans were priced between KD21 and KD29 which is cool but most of the styles and colors they had even I would call old fashioned.

A very informative article on why old systems and specifically the SNES get discolored. I always figured it was something in the plastic and that light might also have something to do and turns out I was mostly right. [Link]

Here are the statistics for 2006 but I am telling you from now, 2007 is going to be a lot more fun thats for sure. I already have a couple of cool things lined up including new sponsors and new stuff for the blog, one which I am hoping works out soon because it will involve me and a couple of super cars. Well you can imagine, I am in Lebanon and its my first vacation in a long time so its not like I am going to be hanging around my computer. I have been out of the house all day and I am just back now to change before I go to this club called Basement.

Here is a video from the demonstration today again outside the House of Parliament. The demonstrators are requesting that every Kuwaitis debts be dropped. Today around twenty percent of the demonstrators were woman. The last demonstration it was around twenty percent high school kids. [Video]

Don’t know how old this music video is but I just watched it now for the first time and its pretty fucking cool. Reminds me of my university days, makes me want to get wasted.
