Since our agency is not allowed to have pirated software and since we recently cleaned up and deleted our pirated software, the whole creativity department was left without a copy of Microsoft Office. So, I have taken it upon myself to hook everyone up with NeoOffice. NeoOffice is based on OpenOffice, which is both a multi-platform and multi-lingual office suite and an open-source project. Compatible with all other major office suites, the product is free to download, use, and distribute. This means this free software will allow us to open and save word documents without having to pay a gazillion dollars in licensing fees. My department aren’t heavy Office users anyway so this will be more then enough. [Link]

The magazine Grande Reportagem in Lisbon, Portugal, is running a sobering ad campaign that adds a color-coded legend to the flags of various countries to comment on the cultural and social conditions there. The mastermind behind the effort is a 25-year-old Brazilian graphic designer named Icaro Doria. “We started to research relevant, global and current facts and thus came up with the idea to put new meanings to the colors of the flags,” Doria tells BrazilianArtists.net. “We used real data taken from the Web sites of Amnesty International and the UNO.” The tagline is, “Meet the world.” The campaign, via Foote Cone & Belding Portugal, won a gold Lion at Cannes. I found this meal in the freezer at Sultan Center, it looked very appetizing and filling so I got it. The microwavable meal contains 2 beef enchiladas in chili sauce with meat, 2 cheese enchiladas in chili con queso, beans, spanish rice and salsa. Sounds yummy right?

When I took the meal out of the box it looked completely different then from the picture on the box, I tell you, these food stylists are miracle workers. The cooking instructions were easy and within a few minutes in the microwave the meal was ready.

At first glance the food looked a bit.. off (to put it nicely). I swear I was afraid to eat it, it just looked terrible. But, for review purposes I had to eat it and it wasn’t very practical, there was no way I could hold up the enchiladas without being drenched in chili sauce and what I did manage to eat turned out to be tasteless and bland. I would definitely not have it again, it wasn’t very satisfying and and it just looked terrible. It wasn’t cheap either, I believe it costed KD1.850 so the final score will have to be a 1 out of 5.

The Doom movie is going to come out soon. Its being directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, the guy who directed the movies Twins, Speed, Dante’s Peak, The Devil’s Advocate, Lethal Weapon 4 and Thirteen Days. The problem though the movie is starring The Rock! Thats why the movie will suck, The Rock sucks. Maybe 12 year olds think he is cool but to adults he is just lame, they might as well have used Hulk Hogan instead. I am trying to think of who would be better then The Rock but sadly I can’t seem to think of anyone else. Van Diesel is more of the extreme sports guy who cares only about himself, not the team leader type. Sylvester Stallone seems like a good option with his past experiences but he’s old now, Woody Harrelson although cool in Natural Born Killers I just can’t seem him leading a group of elite men on a mission to Mars. Who else is left? Wesley Snipes? No, Clive Owen? No, Samuel L. Jackson? No, Colin Farrell? No. There really aren’t that many guys who can fit the part.

Actually, maybe Robert De Niro would fit the part. He was pretty cool in Heat oh and Val Kilmer, he would also fit the part, even Al Pacino. Denis Leary was cool in Judgment Night. Actually if you put these guys together they would make a pretty cool fucking team. That would make Doom a much better movie. Put Robert De Niro, Val Kilmer, Al Pacino and Denis Leary on the same team against The Rock, Van Diesel, Collin Farel and Wesley Snipes and I think you would have one fucking amazing movie.

Waiting for a phone call now from the mechanic, supposingly 3 of my 4 “bakarat” need changing. I have no clue what bakarat are our what language this word is from or what the hell these bakarat do. Now I am waiting for him to call me and tell me how much it will cost to fix it.

Just took my car to the mechanique because it was making some sounds and vibrations. I don’t like mechanics, they are like doctors. You go to a doctor for a checkup, he tells you that X and Y are wrong with you and that you need to take this and that medicine. You say ok and you leave the office and go get the medicine. You have no clue if the doctor is right or what the hell he was talking about. Same with mechanics. You go there, he tells you that X and Y are fucked up and it will cost you need this and that to fix it. You nod your head pretending you understood what the hell he just spoke about and you agree he fixes them for you.
