Tattoo Censorship
I spotted the magazine above with tattoos marked over with a black marker. Don’t think I’ve ever seen tattoo’s censored before, boobs and ankles yes but not tattoos.
A reader scanned the car ad above from a 1965 Kuwait Little Theatre show programme. I love how the dealerships phone number is just 5 digits. Check out the larger version of the picture above [Here]
Thanks Westwood Heritage
The photo above taken by Mohammed Alsultan of the tire fire near the scrapyards made it on 500px’s Best of 2012: Journalism list. It’s a pretty fantastic photo. [Link]

There is this little Korean store located in my building that I am in love with. They sadly don’t sell anything I could buy but I love visiting it every now and then just because it’s such a weird experience being inside. The store mostly sells headbands and hair bows and god damn they have so many packed into such a tiny store. All the items are imported directly from Korea and there is a very quiet Korean lady who runs the store and is usually sitting hidden behind the counter. I think all these hanging headbands sound proof the store because once you walk inside it becomes eerily quiet.
I’ve never seen any customer in the store so I have no idea if business is good or not but they’ve been open for a long time now so they must be doing ok I guess. If you’re interested in checking it out, the store is located on the Mezzanine floor of Anjari Complex in the old Salmiya. Once you go up the escalator the shop is located on the right hand side.

The Ghost House
Does anyone have any pictures of the blue and white ghost house that was located on the 30th near the 4th Ring Road exit? Also does anyone know the history or story of the house? I was telling a friend about it yesterday and I figured I’d try and get more information about it since there doesn’t seem to be much info online.
965 Flowers
Over a year ago the owner of 965 Flowers contacted me wanting me to write about his website. It’s basically a website similar to 6alabat except instead of ordering food you order flowers. I’m not a flower kind of guy so the website really didn’t interest me at all. I then kept getting emails from him every few months and even phone calls but I still wasn’t interested and it was kind of getting annoying. But, one thing he did achieve was implant the website into my head so I wouldn’t forget it.
Finally the day came where I needed to send flowers and 965flowers.com popped into my head. The website has 10 flower shops listed which combined means I had hundreds of different flower options to choose from with a lot of different prices. After painstakingly hunting through all the thumbnails I finally found what I wanted and ordered it. I placed the order around 9AM and asked it to be delivered between 11AM and 2PM of the same day. At 12:18PM I get a confirmation email telling me the flowers were delivered.
So yeah it works and I thought it was easy to use and practical. Only thing I would have liked is the ability to view all the flowers from all the stores on one page since it was pretty annoying going into every store one by one and then flipping through pages and pages of thumbnails. Other than that I had no issues at all.
Here is the link to the website if you want to check it out. [Link]
Update: Based on my feedback they’ve now added the option to view all the flowers from all the store at the same time, but you’re still limited to viewing just 15 thumbnails at once.

Not sure how I missed this yesterday but it was open day at the Ali Al Salem Air Force base and anyone could get in and check the planes and helicopters they had on display. They even had drones on display!
Marzouq visited the base and took a ton of photos which he’s uploaded onto his blog and you can check out [Here]
Millionaire Boy Racers
The documentary is now out and has made it’s way to YouTube. Here is a description:
For many Londoners, the summer is a chance to escape the noise and bustle of the capital in search of relaxation and sun overseas, but as the Brits hit the beaches, London becomes the top destination for super-rich Arab tourists and their supercars.
This documentary provides an insight into the influx of supercars and their wealthy owners in central London each summer.
Swapping the searing heat of their homes in the Middle East for the cool of the UK, increasing numbers of super-rich Arabs are packing their bags and cars for their annual vacation in the capital.
Million-pound Bugatti Veyrons and extravagant Koenigsegg supercars have become a common sight on the streets of London but it has divided the opinion of the residents.
These elite supercar owners, often young Arabs in their twenties, enjoy showing off their motors but many of those living in Knightsbridge and Chelsea are less enthusiastic; they say summer in the city has become unbearable.
The locals are complaining about sleepless nights caused by revving engines and speeding cars racing down the narrow streets, leaving the police with no choice but to clamp down on noise offences and reprimand those driving without the correct insurance, tax and number plates.
The supercar phenomenon has also sparked a fan base of ‘carparazzi’: young – mostly male – Brits are tracking down the latest arrivals so that they can photograph and film the cars and post them online: the noisier and shinier the supercar, the better.

Michel Hayek predictions for Kuwait
Michel Hayek is an extremely popular fortune teller in Lebanon who comes on TV at the end of the year to share his predictions for the coming year. Embarrassingly, he’s so popular that according to him, 35% of the Lebanese politicians see him in private and most have started basing their decisions on his predictions.
Anyway, Michel Hayek has made a number of predictions about Kuwait I’ve listed below. Please don’t take these seriously:
– Kuwait’s Emir will be subjected to a few attacks and health problems
– A political crisis could lead to a siege around a highly symbolic and important building
– The earths crust displacement will result in cracks to a few buildings
– Kuwait’s mediation in a regional affair proves to be successful
So there you have it, Michel Hayek’s predictions for Kuwait. You can watch him read the predictions in Arabic on TV by following this [Link]
