This is a cool little store that’s located on M1 in Salhiya Complex. It’s the outlet shop for all the Tanagra brands like Tumi, Orla Kiely, Lacoste and more. The problem is the majority of the time the items available aren’t that great but every now and then you might find something that’s a steal.
Architecture of Kuwait announced yesterday they will be tracing over old photos and turning them into 3D in order to visualize moments of that era. I think that’s a fantastic idea and one I’m looking forward to see. Not sure how far back in time they’re going but I’m guessing somewhere in the 50s and 60s. Check out their post on this project [Here]
Btw notice how much greener the city looked like in the picture above?
Arabian Business just released their 2011 Rich List featuring the wealthiest Arab men and women in the world. Kuwait came in 6th and 7th in their Top 10 list with Al Kharafi family being the 6th and Bukhamseen family the 7th. For the full report click [Here]
Due to all the criticism regarding the ticket pricing of the comedy club in my previous post, the club owners contacted me and told me they’ve decided to lower the prices down to the following:

These prices also include a light snack for each attendee.

Dec 5: Kuwaiti-Lebanese relations are “deep-seated and historic,” Kuwait’s Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Borders Security Affairs Major General Sheikh Mohammad Al-Youssef said Thursday. [Source]
But…
It actually gets funnier because:
Dec 15: The Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour hailed the Kuwaiti support offered to his country over decades in various fields. [Source]
I’m never gonna understand politics.

Is it just me or does KD70,000 for a purse sound a bit on the expensive side?
The El Derwaza blog has a page with a whole bunch of Kuwait’s Guinness World Records. It’s missing a few but their were two or three I wasn’t aware of before. And yes that’s a picture of a box full of Krispy Kreme glazed donuts. Kinda wish I could dive into it. [Link]
I’ve seen a ton of this videos but never one where the cops actually show up and chase the drifters. [YouTube]
Thanks Tuan
I can’t believe how time flew by so quickly this year. I still haven’t finished editing the pictures from last years Gulf Run and now GR7 is coming up next month. Tonight they had a small get together to introduce what’s new and different in this years Gulf Run. I’m not going to be able to join the guys in Bahrain this year but, I’ll still be covering all the events leading up to Bahrain and maybe even find a way to to cover Bahrain as well. For more information on what is Gulf Run you can visit their website [Here]
Thanks Pinot

This is a very simple app which allows you to track incoming and departing flights at the Kuwait Airport. Back in the old days (I’m talking around 2001-2002 here) the Kuwait Airport website was terrible (kinda like now) but it had one very cool feature. When you accessed the airport website from a PDA browser, it wouldn’t take you to the regular website but instead take to a very simple white background site with just a list of incoming flights on it. It was PERFECT! A lot of times when I needed to check the arrivals list it would usually be when I’m on my way to the airport and from a mobile device. That simplified version of the website made things very practical and I was actually really surprised the airport website had that feature. Sadly, this cool feature disappeared years ago without a trace.
Which brings me to this app. It’s fast and focused. It’s actually the fastest launching app on my iPhone right now. So fast I actually had a VERY difficult time capturing a screenshot of the splash screen. Once the app loads it downloads the list of arriving and departing flights and you’re set. You can then scroll down the lists or search for a specific flight number or airline.
There are no negatives other than the fact the app isn’t free. You can download it from the App Store by searching for Kuwait Airport or by following this [Link]
