I haven’t been watching Showtime for ages so I just turned it on now and was checking my Tivo guide and to my surprise I found two new cool shows. Not new as in they are recent but new as in new additions to showtime. The two shows are Moonlighting and Out of this World. Can’t believe they are playing these two shows.. I love them!

When I was looking for a Memory Stick for my Sony PSP I didn’t know if it was worth paying extra and getting the high speed version (the Ultra II for example) or getting the regular and more affordable version. I did some research online to see if I could find information on this and what I found was very confusing.

The faster Memory Stick allows you to read and write data onto it faster then the regular card but according to some users the PSP doesn’t take advantage of the faster Memory Sticks. This means if you get a regular speed Memory Stick and a hight speed one, the PSP will treat both of them equally and read and write onto both at the same speed.

Some users on the other hand stated the opposite. Their views were that the PSP did take advantage of the high speed cards and that games would load faster when using them.

So not wanting to take a risk I decided to purchase the high speed card and thats what I have been using ever since. Recently I realized that 1GB wasn’t enough room since some games like Grand Theft Auto take up 850MB which leaves no room for a second game. So I was checking out prices on Amazon and noticed that once you get to Memory sticks 2GB and larger the price difference between the regular speed and high speed ones increased more.

Thats why I decided to experiment using the two different cards and see if they both worked on the PSP the same way. In short, turns out both cards performed exactly the same which means the people who said the PSP didn’t take advantage of the Hi-Speed cards were right.

I used Nat’s 1GB Sandisk card and my 1GB Sandisk Ultra II for my test. I copied GTA onto both and tried them out. I didn’t notice any difference at all, with both sticks the game loaded quickly and load times were none existent. Having a highspeed memory stick with the PSP is a waste of money..

I know this post might seem weird but I wrote it for people who are googling this memory stick information..

Today morning I dropped Nat to the airport and she will be in Lebanon until Sunday. Its just me and Geo at home chillin’ and watchin’ some TV.

I just finished watching this stupid movie called These Girls, from the IMDB description I thought it would be soft porn but instead it turned out to be really lame. I don’t know how it got an R rating..

So anyway the picture above is of Geo with the Cookie Monster doll which Ananyah had sent me. He had stolen it off my desk while I was in the bathroom and I didn’t have the heart to take it away from him.

Maybe I am low-tech or something but how do you use “bluetooth technology” to take pictures?

You know the stand in the Marina Mall food court with the chocolate fountain? Well they have the worst chocolate chip cookies ever. It costs 250fils, its small, its extremely dry, it was tasteless and totally crap. I took one bite and then quickly trashed it.

I am having my apartments AC serviced and so the repair guys had to turn it off. It feels like I am sitting in a sauna at the moment, I hope my keyboard is water sweat proof. Geo is currently packing up his stuff and moving back to Belgium, I am hoping he will take me with him..

I am currently using a Sony Ericsson K700i. To summarize my experience.. it sucks. The phone is buggy, sluggish and ugly. Recently its also been acting very strange like for example the down button would stop working or my call list would show that I called people whom I never did. Not only that but sometimes when my friends call it won’t show me their names just their numbers.. even though their names are on my phone. Its really starting to piss me off and so I need a new phone. My problem is I don’t like paying too much for a phone, you can call me cheap but I personally just don’t see myself paying a lot for phones. I still remember when the Sony Ericsson T610 got released and I forked out KD220 for it back then but those days are gone. Now my budget is KD100 or less.

What I need is the following:
– Bluetooth
– Good looks
– extremely responsive system
– No Nokia

Yesterday I saw the Samsung SGH-E530 (pictured above) and it looked pretty cool. Although I dislike Samsung the phone looked really slick, it had bluetooth, a beautiful colored screen on the inside and a gorgeous OLED screen on the outside. The price at the dealer was KD95 so I should be able to find it even cheaper outside. The problem is the phone is targetted towards woman which would make me very girlie. Another option I was considering was the Motorolla Razr, I haven’t done any research on it yet nor do I know how much it cosst but I will check on that later tonight. Can anyone recommend me a phone?

update: seems like the Treo 700P is launching this month, I am going to wait for it and check it out before I take my decision. [Link]

I was at Marina Crescent yesterday with Geo when I noticed a guy setting up a large telescope. I then remembered Astronaut Girl’s post on Astronomy Day at Marina Crescent. They had two large telescopes located at Marina Crescent and passerby’s were encouraged to look through it. I wasn’t able to since I was with Geo and I didn’t want to bother the crowd but most of the reactions from people who tried it was of amazement. I would have posted about the event before it happened but it had totally slipped my mind…

Update: Tonight at Ujeri Observatory, Science Club there will be some presentations by Ujri himself, amateur astronomers, and Astronaut Girl. Astronaut Girl will be giving a presentation about Space Science and the opening of the new branch of Space at the Science Club. Visitors will also be able to observe the sky with the big telescope. Time: 7:00PM to 10:00PM

TivoGuy passed by zMacShop yesterday because he was interested in the MacBook Pro. He was expecting the prices to be a bit more expensive then the States but it turns out they were selling it for KD890 which is KD160 more expensive! This is for the 15.4″ 2.0Ghz with 1GB RAM and 100GB HD. So I phoned a couple of other Mac stores in Kuwait to see how much they were all charging for the same laptop and this is what I found:

Turns out zMacShop is actually a lot cheaper then the other Mac stores in Kuwait but surprisingly not the cheapest. The cheapest store turned to be Solize and by KD40 which is a nice chunk of change. The price on Amazon is KD730 for your information.

A few days ago I posted about how Hardees recently increased their prices well today I passed by McDonalds for breakfast and it turns out they just increased their prices as well! The thing is this is the second time they increase their prices. I posted about their first price increase last July when the majority of their combos had their price increase by 50fils. Well they just did it again but this time by 100fils. Even the breakfast menu got effected this time with the regular breakfast combo now costing 850fils compared to the 700fils it used to cost before.

So I picked up my breakfast combo and drove off thinking about how these price increases suck when I stuck my hand in the bag and realized they forgot to give me my hashbrowns! So not only did I pay 150fils extra compared to what I used to pay but they also forgot my hashbrown. Luckily I had their phone number stored on my phone so I called them up to complain. They apologized and told me I could pass by again for the hashbrown, I told them I was on my way to work but it wasn’t a problem, I just didn’t want it to happen again.

Nice way to start a morning..

According to customer polls and sales in the US, the big patty is what everyone wants, more meat for less money! So Hardees decided to change sizes. Its comparatively cheaper to get a bigger burger in the US. Blame the high prices on the franchisee here! If the fries in hardees taste different its because they have changed cooking oil, its local cooking oil now. BTW, Americana has bought out Texas Chicken, so say goodbye to it!

So for those of you complaining about the weird tasting fries at Hardees you have your answer. I am surprised by the last part that Americana bought out Texas Chicken. That sucks, Texas Chicken must have been hurting KFC’s business badly or else I don’t see why Americana would buy them out. Does this mean Americana will shut down Texas Chicken? I don’t think so but they might mess it up…

This album isn’t out but I am looking forward to it. I really liked their last album Sonic Nurse so I am hoping this is going to follow in the same style.
