An interesting article I found via Kottke that talks about how Brazilian players dont have last names (Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cafu, Fred..) and why that is. [Link]
Players with the same first name often change their moniker to differentiate themselves. In recent decades, there have been several Ronaldos at the national level. One became known as Ronaldao, meaning “big Ronaldo.” Another became Ronaldinho, meaning “little Ronaldo.” When another Ronaldinho came along in the late 1990s, he was called Ronaldinho Gaucho—that is, “little Ronaldo from Rio Grande do Sul.” Eventually, the first Ronaldo left the Brazilian national squad, so Ronaldinho became Ronaldo. Ronaldinho Gaucho became Ronaldinho.
Ok, so I am like 1 position away from an iPod nano. The Toot design competition is going to end on the 15th and I am currently in like 3rd place. I need to be in 2nd place to get that nano so take a second and go vote for me. In return, Nat will pose naked with the Nano. Sounds like a good deal? Nat doesn’t seem to think so… Ok seriously now if I win the $50 voucher I will probably put it towards the purchase of these Campers shoes I have had my eyes on. If I get the nano Nat will probably take it since her iPod shuffle is busted. Hmmm maybe its actually better I win the voucher.. (Nat made me delete this).

Some people are now reporting that their MacBooks have started changing color which is really messed up. I mean before I was worried about the overheating problem but now I am worried about this discoloration. Now I am trying to figure out if I should cancel my order or not. So far there have only been 1 set of pictures which 1 person took but its blurry which is always fishy. Will wait a day and see how this progresses and then decide if I should cancel my order and wait a bit. [Link]
I went to Alghanim today to pick up my cheque when on my way out I noticed the new Escalade. I had seen it before in pictures online but this was the first time I saw it in person and it looks wayyy better then in the pictures. Even the inside is really cool.
This is a movie I can’t wait to watch. Check out the trailer. [Video]

I love the Firefox Internet browser because of the amount of extensions available for it. The latest one I have been using is Google’s Firefox sync tool. It basically allows you to sync your Firefox browser across many computers. For example I use 3 computers for browsing, my Mac at home, Nat’s PowerBook and my Mac at work. With Google’s Firefox sync tool I can sync my bookmarks, my passwords, my browser history and even the tabs I have open across all my computers. There have been other extensions that have done this before but this is the first time one has done it so easily.
My problem with this tool like all the other sync tools is it’s slow. When you first load up Firefox it has to check online and see what updates I did in my previous browsing session on my other computers and then sync my local Mac with those changes. Also when I quit Firefox it has to save my changes online so that when I get home it would get synced over there. These waiting periods can be frustratingly slow specially if you just want to load up the browser for a quick search. Luckily you can cancel the sync if you need to and browse right ahead without getting anything synced.
Anyway its worth a shot, I have been using it for a few days now and it still hasn’t gotten on my nerve so that’s a good thing. [Link]
I am not a big fan of these optical illusion stuff you find online but this is the first time I see one that works like this.
“Just stare at the dot for 30 seconds. Then, without moving your eyes, move the mouse over the image. It will look like it’s in color until you move your eyes.”
Basically the black and white picture will end up looking as if its in full color. Freaky. [Link]
