CSI New York will start playing on Showtime starting next month. This means we will now have all three CSI’s on Showtime which combined with the show 24 makes TV Land one of the coolest channels available.

I was talking about how crappy humid weather is and how we are lucky we don’t live in Dubai when a friend mentioned that Dubai actually asked NASA to study the possibility of controlling the weather in Dubai. Anyone know anything about this? Google revealed nothing.

Finally the NHL lockout has ended. After having the whole NHL season canceled, things are back on track. The biggest surprise to me were some of the new rule changes. Firstly no game will end in a draw now, if there is a draw the teams will go into a shootout until one team comes out the victor. Other changes include the goalkeepers gloves and pads which will shrink in size to make it harder for them to protect the net. For more details on the new rules and salary caps, hit the link. [Link]

Since I installed the Xbox Media Center I started downloading movies from the web again. I stopped downloading movies along time ago because it was a pain watching them on my computer. Now with the Xbox Media Center I stream all the movies onto my TV in the living room. I downloaded 7 movies this weekend, Sin City, The Jacket, Monthy Python and the Holy Grail, The Ring Two, Napoleon Dynamite and Anchorman. I only managed to watch 3 movies though.

Sin City turned out to be great. I had totally forgotten how the actual comics were made up of short stories so I was glad to see this got transferred into the movies. Mickey Rourke was the best thing about the movie, I am glad his career is back on track now.

The Jacket was so so. My brother thought it was an amazing movie so I was expecting it to be so, but I found it un-eventual and slow. They could have done so much more with this movie. Adrien Brody is a good actor though, I like him.

Napoleon Dynamite was hilarious. I have never seen such sad looking characters in my whole life, they are the most incredibly dorky and geeky people you could ever meet, and they fucking kicked ass. Pedro is like the man!

Tonight I am probably going to watch Anchorman. I am also downloading the A-Team season 1, hopefully that will turn out to be as good as I remember it.

Overall the quality of the movies were really good, like DVD quality and all were actually DVD rips not in movie recordings. The only downside is that from all the movies I downloaded non of them have Dolby Digital so I am stuck watching all the movies in Stereo mode only.

‘I am the scapegoat that spent 11 years and three months in a prison grave,’ said Girgis Khoury upon his release from the Defense Ministry prison in Yarze Thursday. My 3-floor underground prison cell throughout my incarceration was a grave, not only a dungeon without sunshine or fresh air.’ Khoury, 37, walked out of prison a free man at sundown Thursday at the orders of State Prosecutor Saeed Mirza. Girgis was held on charge of blowing up the Maronite church of Notre Dame de la Deliverance on March 14. 1994, in which 10 worshippers were killed.

The first thing he did was to go to the church at suburban Zouk Mekayel to pray. ‘I told the Virgin Mary that Girgis Khoury is innocent. Girgis Khoury can not possibly blow up a church or even think of harming any church,’ he said.

Word of Longhorn’s new name began leaking to the Web on Thursday evening. One Windows site discovered that Microsoft registered the WindowsVista.US domain name. Microsoft is expected to make the official announcement of the new name on Friday morning.

Microsoft has relied primarily on date-oriented names for many of its products, although it has shied away from those on occasion.

The last major version of Windows, code-named “Whistler,” eventually was christened Windows XP.

Microsoft officials declined to comment on the specifics of a “Longhorn-related” news announcement slated for Friday morning.

Longhorn Beta 1 is widely expected to be unveiled next week. Beta 2 is due in the first half of 2006. Microsoft officials confirmed on Thursday the final release is still on track for the latter half of 2006.

A few days ago I was at McDonalds and I ordered the Fillet-O-Fish combo with a Quarter Pounder Sandwich. which was supposed to come up to a total of KD1.650 according to the “McDonalds Pricing Bug“. But suddenly the McDonalds chick was asking for KD1.850! I thought I must have miscalculated and had my lunch.

Yesterday night I passed by McDonalds and I asked the manager if they had increased the prices. He told me they had, by 50fils. Thats not 100% accurate though. Some of the value meals like the Fillet-O-Fish combo and the Double Cheese Burger combo were priced at a super value price of KD1. Now they are priced at KD1.150 which is a 150fils more expensive! The breakfast menu seems to be intact and unchanged, the 100fils ice cream cone is still 100fils also. When I asked the manager why the prices had increased, he told me that its due to the increase in the price of the goods. So now Starbucks and Mcdonalds have increased their prices, whos next? I heard Chilis also increased their prices.

As some of you may have noticed I placed a Google Ad on the right column of my blog. I also placed some ads on various other sites of mine after I read someone made $10,000 a month from these ads. After placing the Ads on my site yesterday afternoon, today I checked the stats and it seems I made around $1.25. Its nothing close to $10,000 a month but say I make $1.5 per day, in a year thats around $550. Its what I call fun money, little money you make which you can buy gadgets with.
