Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
A beautiful story that was somehow ruined by Tim Burton. The movie was dark and not as colorful as it should have been. There should have been more exploration in the factory. Too much time wasted on getting to know Charlies family. Even more time was wasted on Wonka’s flashbacks to his past and him making good with his father. Movie ruined even more with the Tim Burton signature direction.

Wedding Crashers
Funniest movie since Old School. Vince Vaughn is fucking hilarious and I think he is a better match with Jennifer Aniston then Brad Pitt was. Owen Wilson, Christopher Walken and Will Ferell also were great. The story was original and it was really fun to watch. The coolest thing is the movie is 2 hours long!

Me and You and Everyone We Know
Really good movie. All the characters were really interesting. Most memorable quote.. “You poop into my butt hole and I poop into your butt hole… back and forth… forever.” Nat didn’t like the movie, said it was pointless, she didn’t like The Station Agent either though.. ))<>((

First interesting trivia:
Francis Ford Coppola made a commercial for Suntory whiskey with legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa in the 1970s. This event later influenced a salient plot point in his daughter Sofia’s movie, Lost in Translation.

Second interesting trivia:
In the movie Lost in Translation while shooting the whiskey ad in the movie, the director kept telling Bill Murray to make expressions more like Sean Connery. Turns out Sean Connery actually did do whiskey commercials and you can watch them by clicking here.

My friend told me about this place in Kuwait that can pimp out your car by making your doors open vertically instead of horizontally.. like Lamborgini’s. I think he said it costs KD1000 per door or something. So today on my way back home from work I saw this pimped out envoy with the doors open and I took a quick picture.

Oh and earlier tonight I was crossing the traffic light (walking) behind this old Ford Bronco when I saw a sticker on his rear window that said “Don’t Look Inside”, so I looked inside and wow, the guy had the whole interior of the car laid out with speakers on the bottom and the amps all around the inside windows. There were atleast 12 subs and an equal amount of amps all laid out. Really cool shit.

I have time off from Thursday 3rd of November till Sunday 6th of November due to Eid Al-Fitr. Our office in Saudi Arabia though will be out from tomorrow Wednesday 2nd till the 8th!!

The coolest update has to be Disk Utility: With Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later, Disk Utility can verify your computer’s startup disk (volume) without requiring you to start up from another volume. This feature is called “Live Verification.” If Disk Utility discovers any issues that require a repair, you will need to start up from your Mac OS X Tiger DVD or CD and use Disk Utility on that disc to make repairs. (You can’t repair your startup volume while your computer is started up from it.)

I watched a movie yesterday called Simple Lies. From the minute it started I hated the movie. The first scene involved 2 guys and a girl near a cliff during sunset dancing as if they were listening to rave. For me thats trying too hard to be cool. The whole movie was like that, trying too hard to be cool or trying too hard to be weird or even trying too hard to be cult. The acting was bad, the lines were terrible, the story uninteresting and the ending was stupid. I do not recommend this movie. Simple Lies is Simply Crap.

Matt Mullenweg of WordPress has released a new anti-spam plugin for WordPress called Akismet. According to the early beta users its supposed to be incredibly accurate capturing 99.51% of the spam with no false positives. I personally won’t be installing it since I am using Spam Karma and it has been doing an incredible job catching in total over 10,000 spam comments since I installed it late September. Fuck my luck, I have been waiting all day for a decent shot of something and finally when it happens turns out my camera was set on manual focus! Me and Nat where standing at the traffic light which had 3 lanes. We were parked the third row middle. Suddenly a car pulls up beside us with two people in it. The passenger wearing local clothing gets out and goes to the car infront of him and starts punching the passenger there. The driver then follows him and starts kicking in the side windows of the car infront of him and smashing them. By then I had my camera out (it was on my side since I was shooting earlier) and I started taking pictures. Then I realized my camera was out of focus and wasnt focusing because it was set on manual. Suddenly the car that was getting attacked climbs the sidewalk, nearly runs over the guy in local clothing who was trying to hang on to the car, and then crosses the red light nearly hitting an oncoming car. The two attackers get back into their car and rush off in a high speed chase through traffic. Our light turned green so I tried to follow them but it was impossible since they were weaving in through heavy traffic dangerously and then they ran another red light. It was such a rush watching all this happen and it all happened so fast. Damn my luck for having my camera in manual focus. I am sure they would have been interesting pictures. The picture above was the only picture I was able to take after quickly putting my camera on autofocus again. You can see the local guy on the floor and the car jumping off the curb through traffic. You can also see where that car was parked.

I watched a few movies this weekend, this is what I thought of them:

Constantine
Production quality was amazing. Story was boring. I still prefer The Prophecy over it.

Elf
Will Ferrel is very funny but I should have watched this during Christmas. The movie was cute, Nataly didn’t like it, thought it was to kiddish.

Creep
This movie started off great, really freaky and scary. Then 30 minutes before the end it turns into a crappy B movie. I don’t know how they managed to fuck up the movie like that, its very sad. The story took a weird turn and became very stupid.. really pissed me off.

Heights
A very nice movie, no action, no comedy, just a straight forward drama based in New York. The movie ended nicely also.

Kill Bill 2
After watching Kill Bill 2 I don’t understand why they divided the movie into two parts. Part two was pretty uneventful and I am sure they could have easily merged the two movies without losing any key parts. In any case, part 2 was boring, 2 fight scenes against 2 people with maybe 1 liter of blood and thats all.

Mysterious Skin
For some reason I thought this movie was going to be about aliens. It did start off like that but then somehow it turned into a very gay movie. By that I mean it literarily, the movie contained a lot of homosexuality and by the end of the movie you realize you just watched a lot of guy on guy blow jobs. The movie was good though, just be prepared for the gay stuff.

Hot Shots
I remember this movie being really funny when I first watched it in the early 90’s. Its either not as funny now or maybe I lost my sense of humor.

Was flipping through my Miskan archive when I found this picture dating back to February of this year which for some reason I never ended up using. Looking at it now I think its a lot cooler then the image I finally decided to use that day.
