Things to do in Kuwait this Weekend

Post by Mark

Lots of things to do this weekend but my personal picks are the following. The Cinderella Pantomime definitely but the tickets are all already sold out so if you hadn’t already booked you’re out of luck. In case you don’t have tickets to Cinderella then I’d do the rooftop movie tonight. For Friday I’d start off with the Red Bull Bar Bahr race for a bit, then I’d stop by the kite event at Al Kout on the way back before heading to the end of year gifts bazaar. On Saturday I’d start off with the secret garden in the morning, followed by Qout Market and finally I’d pass by and check out the Motocross Race. Here is the full list of events for this weekend:

Another busy weekend with lots to do. My personal picks would be the GBS Winter Bazaar today (I love bazaars) and the rooftop movie “Once” if you haven’t watched it (I have and it’s great). For Friday I would do the 4 Nations T20 Festival, even if you aren’t a cricket fan the venue is great, it’s a huge event with international stars attending and there will be lots of stalls. I’d also follow up with Street Fest on Friday. For Saturday I would do the the EG Carnival and the rooftop movie Das Boot which is a must watch movie. Check out the full list of events below:

This is going to be a busy weekend and a super busy Saturday. The weather is amazing right now which is why the Cinemagics rooftop movies are back on. They’ve upgraded the setup this year with a larger screen and more comfortable seating so I’m looking forward to it. On Saturday there is also the Bark in the Park event in Ahmadi. I’m going to be one of the judges again this year so if you see me come up and say hi. Finally there’s a Fun Fair on Saturday as well which will be taking place at the Discovery Mall gardens. All proceeds from the Fun Fair will be going to Dasman Diabetes Institute. Check out the full list of this weekends events below:

Thursday
Rooftop Movie: The Grand Budapest Hotel

Friday

Book Club Meeting

Saturday

battleoftheeast

This is a busy weekend. The Kuwait Little Theater will be performing their last show before the theater will sadly be demolished to make space for a new one. The Red Bull Car Park Drift is taking place on Friday and Qout Market is back again this Saturday. The coolest event this weekend though is the Battle of the East crossfit competition taking place at Marina Crescent. I went to the one last year and it’s by far the most properly setup and organized sporting event that currently takes place in Kuwait and this year it’s supposed to be even bigger and better. Check out all the events taking place this weekend below:

Thursday
KLT: Talking Heads

Friday
KLT: Talking Heads
Battle of the East 2014
Kuwait Human Rights Mapup
7Market Haunted Garden
Red Bull Car Park Drift

Saturday
The Secret Garden Project
Battle of the East 2014
7Market Hunted Garden
Qout Market

Help Out the British Airways Media Team

Post by Mark

The European production company behind the 4 part documentary on Kuwait that is being aired on British Airways will be in Kuwait next week and they need your help. The 4 part series is being spread out over a one year period, the first part was released last week while the second will be released before the end of the year.

[YouTube]

The second part of the documentary will be focusing on tourism so they’re looking for places or activities to film that are off the beaten track. Meaning, they know about Souk Mubarkia and the Scientific Center, what they’re looking for is less popular but still very interesting things to do. I’m not sure how long the team will be in Kuwait for but here are my suggestions:

Sabah Al Ahmad Sea City (aka Khiran)
Paddle Boarding
Wakeboarding
House of Mirrors
Fish Market Auctions
Powered Paragliding
Friday Market
Weekly Al-Farsi Kite Show (not sure if they’re active in the summer)
Cinemagics Rooftop Movies (currently not active because it’s summer)
Qout Market (currently not active because it’s summer)
Shakshooka Market (currently not active because it’s summer)

This is all I could think of for now but if you have any other suggestions leave it in the comments below.
